Under Attack

Parker was once again forced to stay back in Alexandria, this time she agreed to do so. Because of their reasons for it mainly. If things went to hell while they were moving the herd- tested out their plan, they might have to run and they had no water which means a lot of them would probably die of thirst before dying to a walker. Despite knowing and agreeing that staying back was probably for the best, she still wanted to help in any way possible. She climbed down the stairs, just finishing 'How To Kill A Mockingbird', and she joined Carl in the living room, the two sitting on opposite sides of the couch.

"I feel like a damn housewife," Parker said with an angry sigh. "I want to be out there helping them." Carl laughed at her and how upset she seemed to be in there,

"Me too, but you know what?" He looked at her, and she turned her head slightly, raising an eyebrow. "We're ten times safer here."

"That's not the point," She chuckled, pushing his hat down over his eyes. "I want to be useful. I'm sick of being trapped inside these godforsaken walls. I want to do something."

"Don't say that," He muttered as he fixed his hat. "You'll curse us. Again."

"Oh, I'm cursed now, aye?"

"Yes, every time you complain about being left behind while they're out doing something. Something always- and I mean always- goes wrong." Carl laughed as she gave him a dirty look.

"And they still haven't learned to take me with them." She shook her head, kissing her teeth. "What do you want to do?" Parker asked after a moment. "I'm bored." She stood up walking over to a closet that had a bunch of random games and toys in it. Mainly for kids. "Do you want to go for a walk?"

"You sound like a teenager," Carl told her as he twisted around to see what she was doing.

"Oh, this could be fun," She grabbed a baseball, tossing it to Carl who caught it right before it hit a ceramic vase. "Nice catch. Let's take Judith out. Toss the ball around. Like we used to."

"Yeah except for, now I'm like fifteen and you're almost forty." Parker's jaw dropped as she picked up Judith.

"Did you just call me 'almost forty'?! Carl, how fast do you think I age? My gosh, I'm thirty-five at best. You brat." They put Judith in her stroller and headed down the street, tossing the ball back and forth as they talked. When Carl was about to toss it back, his eyes locked onto something to his right and he paused entirely. Parker stopped pushing Judtih and followed his gaze and found him looking at Enid and Ron, sitting together, their back turned to them. She placed a hand on his shoulder, re-gaining his attention and she nodded her head signaling to keep moving. "In my opinion, you're better than him. In every way possible. And if Enid can't see that, then she's blind." Carl smiled, looking down at his feet.

"Thanks, Aunt Parker."

"Carl?" Gabriel's voice called out from behind them, he seemed out of breath as he ran to catch up to them. "Parker?" They hadn't talked to him since Deanna had ratted him out at the meeting. None of their group has, he'd pretty much been kicked out from it, an unspoken decision that everyone followed along with.

"What?" Carl snapped, turning to Gabriel. He was just lucky neither of them had any weapons on them at the moment.

"You heard what I told Deanna about your group," Gabriel must have picked up on their hostility towards him, it was obvious. He may have been a coward but he wasn't stupid when it came to some things.

"You have about thirty more seconds before I show you how untrustworthy and dangerous we can be." Parker threatened him, Gabriel stepped back a bit, his hands held together in front of him.

"What do you want?" Carl rushed him, his voice blunt.

"It was about me, not you or your group," Gabriel explained to them in a hurry. "I know that now. I want to help. You tried to teach me back at my church. But I'm ready to learn now"
