Losing Control

When Glenn had returned from his run, he was down two people. Aiden and Noah had died. They had both died that day, and Glenn had instantly told her that Nicholas was responsible for Noah's death. Rosita, Abraham, and Glenn had to get the knife out of her hands, and the three of them had to protect Nicholas from Parker. Glenn did everything in his power to stop her from going to his house and killing him for what he had done to Noah. Although they hadn't known Noah for very long, he was a great kid and definitely didn't deserve to die. He was sweet and Parker enjoyed his company, even if they rarely spent time together. Even though he barely knew her, he was always excited to talk about the baby, suggesting names and offering to find different paints and toys so that she could decorate the nursery.

He was too good for the world, and hearing about his death made her angry. She wanted revenge. Tara had been injured after a grenade went off and she had suffered a severe head injury. She was still unconscious, but they believed that they could stabilize her. Parker didn't really know how to process what happened, because it seemed like everything was starting to go wrong, just like it always did. She didn't sleep that night, too distraught and worried to even consider it. She sat with Carl all night, who had become friends with Noah and was grieving for him. Neither of them spoke, besides when Carl asked her to stay, she didn't hesitate to hug him, trying to stay collected for the sake of her nephew. The next morning, Parker knocked on her brother's door after breakfast.

"Can I stay with you today?"

"Are you okay?" Rick walked out of his room and she followed him, nodding.

"It's just that... Daryl's not back yet and I don't... I don't wanna be alone." She stuttered, taking the stairs two at a time. "For the sake of the people around me."

"Yeah, I'm going to see Deanna now." Rick held the door open for her. They had checked her office first, that's usually where you'd find Deanna. But they found her in the cemetery, standing before her son's grave. Parker saw three more graves and sighed, looking down. Only four. If only they had the luck to suffer that amount of loss, maybe they would still be the same people they were before all this happened. "I'm sorry for what happened," Rick apologized to her, stopping at her side. "How are you holding up?"

"I'm not." Deanna answered quietly, not taking her eyes off Aidens empty grave.

"We have a problem with Pete," Rick informed her, thinking it'd be best to divert her attention to something other than her dead son.

"I hoped it'd get better," Deanna muttered quietly. Parker looked at her with wide eyes.

"You knew?" Deanna simply nodded her head. "And you assumed with time things would just fix themselves?"

"It hasn't gotten better. It won't." Rick told her, anger behind his eyes.

"Pete's a surgeon," Deanna told them. "He's saved lives. He might be saving Tara's life." When she looked at the two, it was obvious she had been crying nonstop since she had found out Aiden had died. Her eyes were red and puffy, and she just didn't look like herself.

"He's beating his wife," Rick reminded her. "We have to stop it."

"How?"

"We separate them," Rick said, having listened to Parker the night before. "We'll tell him that's how it'll be from now on."

"And what happens when he doesn't want to do that?" Deanna looked back at them, waiting for one of the two to answer her concerns.

"It's not up to him anymore," Parker declared. "He had a chance to right himself. It's not his choice anymore."

"So what happens?" Deanna pressed, stepping towards them.

"I kill him," Rick replied casually. "We kill him."

"We don't kill people," Deanna stated as she turned to look at him. "This is civilization, Rick."
