See How It Feels

Parker knew it was stupid to threaten Negan like that and as soon as the words left her mouth, he'd snapped. Two of his men escorted her back to the room and locked her inside for the night, and with nothing else to do to pass the time, she tried to clean up the mess she had made. She didn't sleep that night, too worried to even consider closing her eyes. Too scared of what she would see when she did. The night passed and by the time Parker was done with the mess, light was shining through the dirt and dust-covered windows. She picked up the broken glass from the empty frames she had smashed and held the jagged pieces of glass in the palm of her hand.

Images of Glenn and Abraham flashed through her mind, and for a moment, Parker's hand clenched around the glass, feeling the sharp, jagged edges pierce her skin. She gasped at the sensation that ran through her hand and dropped the shard of glass, looking at the blood pooling in her palm, dripping between her fingers. She felt so incredibly angry at everything that had gone wrong, and as she looked at the glass now covered in a thin layer of her blood, she let out a cry of pure frustration, grabbing a fistful of her hair with her good hand.

She stood up and looked around, barely seeing past the anger she felt at how helpless she was, and with fury surging through her body, she punched the wall again and broke the sheetrock, re-opening the scabbed-over cuts on her knuckles. She let out another scream as she sank back to the ground, crouching on the balls of her feet before falling to the ground and shuffling backward until her back hit the wall and she stopped. Curling into a ball, she saw blood dripping from the open wounds in her hand. The blood reminded her of Glenn, and every time she thought of him, a sharp pain shot through her chest. The sound of a key turning made her head turn towards the door, where the guard stationed outside the room had entered.

"What the fuck?" The man whispered, his eyes landing on her. "Okay, uh... wait here." Parker didn't need to be told to stay where she was and remained sitting against the wall, creating a tight fist with her cut hand, trying to ignore the blood dripping onto the floor between her knees. Footsteps were heard and the voice that followed only irritated her more.

"What the hell have you done to this damn room?" Parker flinched when she heard Negan's voice, keeping her hand tightly balled up when he tried to look at it.

"Decided to do some renovations," Parker mumbled in reply, her eyes downcast and unfocused. She opened her hand, letting him see it.

"Well, shit. I tried being nice and gave you a pretty room and you ruined it," Negan said, then looked around the room, breathing out a slow sigh. "Why don't you experience what that husband of yours has been dealing with for the past day? I'll have someone clean up this damn mess."

"No." Her eyes roamed the room, landing on the knife that was still stuck in the wall.

"No?" Negan repeated, a smile on his face. Parker looked at him, meeting his gaze for the first time since he'd walked in.

"No, leave it. I'll do it."

"Well, that might be a few days. You're gonna take a trip down to the cells." He raised his eyebrows, a sick smile playing on his face as he roughly lifted her up. "That seems deep. What did you do?"

"I cut myself," Parker murmured, fighting him to try and get him to let her go. "I know how to walk." Negan laughed, sending his men out as he walked out with Parker. Dragging her down different hallways, taking her to where they held the prisoners. Where he had Daryl.

"I give you a nice room and you destroy it. Did you hit a wall or something? Is that why your knuckles are like that?" Parker didn't respond. "That was a fancy knife that was stuck in my wall too. That's going to extend the time you spend in here." She stayed silent, still fighting him every so often. "What? The cat got your tongue?" Negan asked, using her words from the side of the road. "It's okay to talk once in a while. Not everything that comes out of your mouth has to be a damn threat. I get it, you're mad, but at least let me help you."
