A sooner end

Addison started her day still in a heavy heart. But today, she will make sure will be different. She might still in pain, but she knows, she will overcome this a little by little. Sa araw na yun, wala na siyang ibang iisipin pa kundi ang anak niya at sarili.

She entered the office with confidence. She worn the dress Wyn bought here and put a bit of make up on. Curled her hair and bathe herself a new perfume.

Zace, Deon and Levi seemed seen her new spirit.

"Good morning." she bowed and thrifted a smile.

The other night, Levi saw her an unwell looking woman, but she came in different today. She's happy?

Naglakad siya patungo sa desk sabay kapwa nagtitigan si Zace at Deon sa hindi  matagong reaksyon ni Levi. So Zace cleared his throat to catch their attention.

"Are we all well today?" he clapped once and all of them faced him. "Zapatti, welcome back."

"Thank you, sir."

"Are you fine that Deon will exit today? Or you need some more help? By the way, are you sure you are ready to go back to work now?"

"Ah yes. Not a problem sir. You can leave the job for me Sir Deon. Okay na po ako Sir Zace, three days ago na akong na discharge"

"Great. I was so happy to see you both last night." That quirked Levi's brow. "Kalani and I are awful artists. You two are magnificent." he shook his head and Addi and him chuckled to each other.

"He finished his portrait of me for 10 minutes, I told you he's a scammer."

"Damn. 10 minutes. You are telling the truth, he's using some magic." he laughed. "Well, aalis na muna ako, maybe Deon too." he looked at Deon. "But if you feel something a bit overwhelming you can ring him."

Levi just looked away and deafen his ears to their conversation. Right, she's obviously fixing their goddamn marriage. No wonder why she smiles like sunshine today.

As the two of them left alone in the office, it brought back the early days that she was his new secretary. Silent and focused. He doesn't even felt any malice to her actions. That's just fast.

"Hi, Erwin? Yes I am back" Addi giggled talking with Erwin at the telephone. "Oh really, wag na uy ayaw kitang maabala.....haha! Are you sure? Eh di ba nga napakabusy mo?....goodness, okay pero kung may gagawin ka sa araw na yun, wag mo na pilitin, okay naman na ako wala na akong sakit.....but sge, sa rest day ko hehe"

Napahigpit si Levi sa pagkakahawak sa ballpe'ng nasa kamay. Aside from reconciling with Brahm, now she's setting a date with that thick brow blonde?

"Anyways, may meeting ka sa amin bukas, I called to ask a confirmation from you.....oh, haha! I am not considering to break your perfect attendance but I am just doing my job, you know??"

He rolled his eyes and stood up but amazingly, hindi man lang siya pinansin nito. He pretended he didn't care too and headed to the restroom.

Nakatayo na ang bawat isang representatives ng bawat floor sa Founding Anniversary ng kompanya at dahil isa doon sa inanyayaang sumali si Addison, sumunod siya doon na limang minutong late. Namilog ang mga mata ng bawat tao doon. Rumors spread like branches at kahit na marami na siyang naririnig na hindi totoong sabi sabi tungkol sa pangingiringking kuno sa boss niyang si Levi, she walked in confidently there.

"Hi, sorry I am late. I am Addison Zapatti"

"Oh hi. To confirm you are representing the security and maintenance department?"

She heard some small laughs with that but with chin up, she smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am."

She's not pity. Oo nga't sira na ang imahe niya at nag-iba ang pananaw ng mga tao sa kanya, sisiguraduhin niyang hindi ito mapupunta sa hangganan. She's more than prepared, this is just her stepping stone.
