Grace

In the shadow of relentless reign,
Where cities crumble and skies are stained,
I stumbled upon a flicker of light,
A form of love in the endless night.

But in this realm of shattered dreams,
Where reality blurs and nothing seems,
Could this be a trick of the mind,
A touch so cold, cruel and unkind?

Yet her eyes held a shimmering grace,
A warmth that defied this desolate place,
Her smile cut through the mechanical haze,
And I dared to hope in these grimacing days.

Are we both products of silicon and steel,
Born from remnants of what used to feel?
Or is this emotion, this fluttering beat,
Something more, something yet complete?
