Time-Twisted Vacation

You're off on vacation, with a curious twist,
Carrying your past into a future that's missed,
Your suitcase is packed with yesterdays' dreams,
Yet your destination's unclear, or so it seems.

You check in at the airport, but the ticket's all wrong,
It's dated next Tuesday, though you've been gone so long,
The future's your present, but the past is still here,
You board the time plane with a laugh and a cheer.

At the beach, you relax, but the sun's on rewind,
The tan you're acquiring is of the retro kind,
The waves roll backwards, as if time's in reverse,
While your past vacation photos're a curious curse.

You sip on a cocktail, it's from next year's menu,
Yet the bartender's pouring drinks from times you've not been to,
Your future's arriving with each moment you bask,
While the past keeps on traveling, more questions to ask.

As you stroll through the market, everything's odd,
The souvenirs are from eras both near and broad,
Your present's a blend of future and yore,
In this time-twisted vacation, reality's a bore.

When you finally return to your own timeline's shore,
Your suitcase now empty, your past gone for sure,
You laugh at the memory of your temporal spree,
And wonder if next year, it'll all happen to be.
