The immediate stand out to her was stepping into the upper class lifestyle. Nice transportation. nicer hotel rooms. And even nicer company.

The next morning she was driven to meet the social media coordinator, someone who would help her start and keep up her social media presence. She walked into the office to meet a kind lady with loud earrings and bright red glasses frames.

Unfortunately Sophia and Walker had to split for the day. She was meeting her team for the first time, and Walker was needed for even more meetings. She couldn't imagine how bored he'd be.

The next hour was more fun than she expected. By the end of it she had created a Tik-Tok account, followed all the necessary people and platforms, and redesigned her instagram, including a more recent profile photo. It was now far more professional looking, and Maria (the social media coordinator) promised they'd get a post up before the comic-con.

She thought about texting Walker and asking him how the meetings were, but then she realized they hadn't even exchanged numbers yet. It was official. They were actually stupid.

Her next stop was a large studio, at least 20 stories up in a building in the heart of New York. This time a man in his early twenties greeted her, his handshake was almost as ecstatic as his bright blue hair.

"Hey there! We're going to be doing some headshots now, I'm Matthew Wolf, I've shot for McKenna Grace and other celebrities incase you wanted to know my vibe."

Sophia smiled, his loud personality making him instantly likable. She simply couldn't be in a bad mood around someone like him.

"Wish I knew who that was, but it's nice to meet you!"

He laughed like she had just said the funniest thing in the world. "No worries miss Sophia, I'm sure you'll meet her soon."

One hair/makeup session and photoshoot later, she now had professional headshots. It was all going so fast that by the time they were done she was almost sad. If she had known she'd enjoy taking photos this much she would've done it more often back home.

Evening came around, and she was practically giddy with energy. She loved admiring the city out the window as the sun set, ascending the glass elevator into their hotel, and so many other things.

She pinched herself multiple times incase it was a dream.

By the time she had flopped onto the bed in their hotel suite, she itched to do something else. Walker wasn't back yet.

She wandered around the giant hotel room. There was one big living space in the center, a kitchen in the back, and floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the city. Four bedrooms were connected, two taken by her and Walker. The others were empty.

She was hanging upside down on the couch, counting the ceiling tiles when the door flung open. It scared her so bad that she screamed and fell off the couch onto her head.

Walker burst in, not bothering to take off his shoes as he walked towards the couch. His eyebrows were scrunched together, and he didn't even stop to wonder why Sophia was on the floor.

"I have bad news."

She stayed on the ground, not taking him seriously. "What, they got your wig wrong for the show?" She laughed, scratching her sore head.

"I'm not messing around. Get up and look at this." She realized then that he'd never sounded more serious.

Standing up, she walked over to him and waited. One second he was pulling something up in his camera roll, and the next shoving it in her face.

It was a photo. A photo of her sleeping on Walker's shoulder.

"But you said-"

He held out his hand to stop her. "It gets worse."

He swiped to the side, clicking on a video. It was the same thing but from a different angle, and slowly zooming in. The caption read, 'WALKER SCOBELL AND SECRET GF??? WHO IS SHE?!'

The screenshot he had of the comments were twice as embarrassing.

Uh why is she lying on my husband? please explain.

Sophia was frozen on the spot. What were they gonna do? And then she realized something Walker probably hadn't in his panic..

He clicked his phone off, defeatedly flopping over the back of the couch so that his legs rested above him and his head hung off the front.

His voice was monotonous when he spoke. "Management was able to get the photo and video taken down within 5 minutes of being posted. So far no new screenshots have been found—"

He continued, but Sophia wasn't listening. She turned towards him.

"Walker shut up for a second."

He obeyed, and she leaned over the couch to see his face. "Gimme your phone." She grabbed it from his hand and scrolled back through the photos. Ha. She knew it.

"Okay I don't wanna assume, but I think we may have gotten lucky."

He sat up, his golden curls falling back over his forehead. "Uh, we're lucky that the internet thinks you're my secret girlfriend?"

She shook her head. "No, we're lucky that I have bangs, and my head is tilted down. In your panic you didn't even realize they can't see my face, dummy." She held it up to him again. "Plus both the photo and video are like, hella zoomed in and blurry."

He sprung up, grabbing the phone back. After a second he smacked a hand to his face, the tension draining from his shoulders. "I'm actually such a dumbass."

Sophia grinned, jumping onto the couch next to him. "I know! They're asking who I am because you can't see what I look like at all."

After that scare, they happily lazed around the rest of the night. Tomorrow they'd both go in for styling, and the next day fly out to San Diego for comic-con.

They also finally decided to exchange numbers.

But even so...Sophia couldn't sleep that night. Not because she was excited, but because she had realized something.

And it could ruin everything.

The thought of being Walker's secret girlfriend didn't disgust her. Not like it should've. And it scared her, not having a safety net of negative emotion that could pull her back from him.

She was getting attached, something that had scared her ever since she saw her parents love life get torn apart.

She knew she couldn't lose Walker. Couldn't lose any of this to stupid feelings. So she did the only thing she knew how to do: she shoved it away.
