AN: solely because I don't know him well, daniel has been removed from the main storyline. also won't be going back and writing tamara in for that same reason.
if you started reading the story after this change, had no idea about it, and saw this note...no you didn't!!

The car ride back to the hotel was silent.
For the others it was a comfortable silence, but Sophia and Walker were on the edge of their seats. It was pretty clear after that message (and the encounter at the coffee shop) that Archer wasn't just going after Sophia. He was holding a grudge against Walker now too.
What a dick.
But hopefully, he couldn't wait.
When they got back, Sophia went to organize a few things in her room, occasionally checking her phone and waiting very impatiently until 7:00 came around. She skimmed the Instagram account that DM'd her, but it was just a spam. A dead end.
Passing the time, she successfully attempted to weave two braids into her hair, pulling out a bunch of loose strands. Her hands were buzzing with excitement, having the whole outing with Walker planned perfectly in her head.
First, they'd get ice cream at a little shop she found nearby. She read that their cookies and cream ice cream was to die for, so he was bound to love it because duh. Oreos.
Second, they'd go on a walk in Central Park. It was only a few blocks away, and she hoped it would give him a chance to get everything off his chest, or at least help him feel less anxious than he'd been recently.
But the final idea was her favorite by far.
Sophia remembered their New Year's Eve in Times Square like it was yesterday. The snow, the lights, the song. Wandering around to sight see and relive the moment sounded like a perfect idea to her.
It was almost perfect last time. Almost.
6:55 rolled around, and she was practically bouncing of the walls with excitement. She'd never been the one to surprise Walker with something fun, so this felt like her own little moment to shine.
A knock sounded on her bedroom door, and she sprang off her bed.
"Soph? You ready?" Walker's muffled voice called, and she bolted to the door so fast that he'd barely finished his sentence before she ripped it open.
"Yes! Definitely. Let me grab my jacket."
They'd decided to dress as inconspicuously as possible to avoid interruptions, so basic clothes and beat-up sneakers were the way to go.
