The rest of the day was spent goofing off and jumping between the coffee shops on Main Street before heading back to the Scobell's house. They stopped at the grocery store on the way home for baking ingredients, and Leah decided that then was the perfect time to announce Sophia's public reappearance on her story.

While getting coffee, they had decided it would be a good idea for Sophia to teach everyone how to make her infamous cinnamon muffins. Aryan almost had a heart attack when he realized he'd finally be able to try one.

Unsurprisingly, they had gotten no more than fifteen minutes into the baking process when it became clear that Walker should under no circumstances be allowed in the kitchen. From the egg shells he dropped in the batter to the flour streaked messily across his face and clothes, he was by far the shittiest cook in the kitchen.

Leah reached over, grabbing the spatula from him. "Alright buddy, that's enough baking for you." He hung his head in shame, trying his best to pick the eggshells out of the batter with his fingers instead.

"Yeah, you're ruining this heavenly experience for me, man." Aryan scolded, mixing together the butter and sugar with his hands like Sophia had shown him to create the crumble.

She giggled, putting down the muffin tin she was holding and reaching over to brush some flour off his sleeve.

"I'm trying my best." Walker grumbled in protest.

"It's okay, not everyone can be an awesome, talented, and amazing baker." Sophia winked, smiling mischievously. Walker rolled his eyes in response. Reaching over to the bag of flour, he pulled out a pinch of it, flicking the powder onto her clothes.

She yelped in surprise. "Hey!" Distracted as she tried to brush it from her shirt, Walker took the opportunity to steal the spatula back from Leah, reaching for the batter.

"Don't worry I got this."

He most definitely did not 'got this'. The bowl slipped from his grip, and would've crashed into the floor if it wasn't for Dior's quick reflexes.

He buried his face in his hands, and Charlie laughed, playfully punching him in the shoulder. "Maybe just stick to acting, Walker."

Luckily the muffins came out perfect, as always. Sophia had to continuously shoo Aryan away from them so they'd have enough time to cool down.

"You'll burn yourself if you eat it right now!" She reminded him, pulling the pan away.

"I'm one hundred percent willing to take that risk." His statement was supported by a comically serious look on his face.

Needless to say, Aryan loved the muffins. That is, he loved them after he tried to eat one ten times and burned his tongue every try without fail.

The kitchen was full of laughter, and Sophia found herself pausing to savor the moment. Despite how terrible her life was in retrospect, small moments like these made it just a bit better.
