Hello there, Dumplings!

My Only Secret has officially ended!

I am honestly shocked by the amount of reads this story has. I never expected it would gain popularity, and I owe it all to the dedicated readers who chose to give this story a chance. Thank you to my followers for their continuous support, and to the silent readers who quietly joined in this journey.

Initially, I didn't have any plans to share this story with others. I wasn't sure if I had the discipline to complete it and keep it updated regularly. But my friends, who were the first readers and cheerleaders of this book, convinced me to publish it. They believed in my ability to bring the tale to life, and their encouragement gave me the confidence to take the leap.

My interest in writing began back in the 8th grade. But before that, I was an avid reader. The thing is, when I was immersing myself in stories and didn't find the scenes or outcomes I was hoping for, I'd feel frustrated. It got to the point where I thought "screw it, I'll do it myself," so I decided to take matters into my own hands and started writing.

In 2018, I stumbled upon the world of boys love stories and fell in love with just how beautiful, romantic, and emotionally charged they could be. I was captivated by the complexities and nuances that came with boys loving boys—how their relationships could be cute, tragic, and deeply layered. That's when I started diving into bl novels and manhwas, devouring different plots and immersing myself in various characters' unique personalities. I found myself adoring every single variation I encountered.

Thus, My Only Secret was born.

This story was actually inspired by the Fallen series action movies. The concept of the US president and his secret service team leader sparked an idea in my mind. "What if the president had a son, and a romance blossomed between them?" The combination of political tension, secret services, and a forbidden love story captivated my imagination, and it planted the seeds of this very story.

ANYWAY, here are some fun facts about my characters!

RAVEN AKIRO ALCAZAREN

Raven, the protagonist of the story, was actually modeled after myself. I'm a second-year nursing student who struggles with a crippling phobia of vomiting. We share the same age, and he shares my love for Taylor Swift songs and Air Supply. I chose to make him a chess master because I've always wanted to learn the game myself, pero hindi ko talaga kaya.(😭) Like Raven, I'm terrible at swimming, and the piano is also my favorite instrument, although I can't play it and I don't have a piano 😭🙏🏻

HUNT GUSTAV CASSIDY

I created Hunt with all the typical attractive qualities that we crave in a character—handsome, hot, tall, and sexy. The reason I repeatedly described him that way was to emphasize why Raven would be so envious of his seemingly perfect exterior. Oh, and I must confess, I HAVE A THING FOR MILITARY GUYS, so making Hunt one seemed like a no-brainer to me. At first, he was supposed to have a similar attitude to Keisuke, but I eventually changed it to create the "he's only soft for him" trope instead.🤭 Listens to The Beatles and Coldplay.

DASHWIN SANTIAGO

It hurts me to admit this, but earlier in the story planning, Dashwin was originally intended to be the traitor within the Malacañang. I made him the one closest to Raven with that specific betrayal in mind, but as I delved deeper into his character, I couldn't bring myself to go through with it. My friends also pleaded with me to drop the idea. Ultimately, I reimagined Dashwin as a caring big brother figure who genuinely worries about Raven. They shared many intimate moments, and one of their bonding activities was eating at Jollibee after Raven's dismissal. Listens to The Script and The Weekend.

KEISUKE VALDEZ

I created Kei, half-Japanese, drawing from my love for anime. He was designed as the group's class clown, but his cheerful demeanor hides a serious streak when the situation demands it. Kei's love for anime is deep, and his favorite series is Tokyo Revengers, primarily because he shares the same name as one of the characters—Baji Keisuke, by the way, who also happens to be my baby! HAHAHA😝 Listens to Avril Lavigne and Kendrick Lamar.

AXEL COOPER CARSON

Axel was the character that all of us yearned for—the cool and silent type who had a mysteriously captivating aura. He had a past as a former mercenary, having fought in war zones, until Hunt got him out from that hellish place on his one final mission. Hunt gave Axel a place within the Malacañang, and it's this act of kindness that solidified Axel's unwavering loyalty to him. For Axel, his commitment to Hunt was boundless. 🥺 Listens to Guns N' Roses and Metallica.

CAMERON GOMEZ

Cameron might have seemed like an unremarkable character at first glance, but delve deeper, and you'd unveil his many talents. He could handle all sorts of vehicles, whip up delicious meals, and even keep things tidy. To top it all off, he was every girl's dream man—kind, caring, and perfect in every way. Within the group, he filled the role of a motherly figure, always ready to offer advice or lend a hand with laundry and clothing dilemmas. Oh, and he had a genuine knack for fashion, too. ✨😫 Listens to anything, but specially loves Adele and Paramore.

And for some good news before this note ends...we'll still be seeing again for the SPECIAL CHAPTERS!

Who knows? We could see Raven introducing Hunt to his parents, gaining their approval and acceptance. Or perhaps we'll catch a glimpse of Hunt's daily activities during the two years when Raven wasn't around. Baka more of Kei and Axel din...

Or maybe Dashwin and Cameron's potential story plot...

For now, all we can do is wait and see what the future holds for our favorite couple.
