"Stay here!" Kim quickly kissed Chay's forehead and walked towards his man. "Who is it?"
"Richard Moore—"
"Kim, I'm not hiding while you are out there fighting those sons of bitches!" Chay jumped down from the desk and appeared right next to Kim. "We are doing this together! Wait..." he turned to the pirate who came bearing the news. "Did you say Richard Moore?"
"How many of them?" Kim asked. His voice, calm and cold.
"Kim..." Chay touched Kim's shoulder; he was starting to get worried. The aura around Kim changed so drastically—it was as if for a moment, Chay couldn't even recognise him.
"I asked... how many?" Kim growled.
"Two ships. Each with at least sixty to seventy men. We have entered a really misty area. They have attacked out of nowhere. It was almost impossible to spot them before it was too late. Some of our men are already wounded, but the good news is that we got a lot of those motherfuckers already!"
"Kim... love, talk to me please," Chay squeezed Kim's shoulder tighter. "Kim," Chay gulped down, "you are scaring me!"
Kim's jaw twitched. He turned to Chay, looking like Chay had just stabbed him, "fuck... darlin', I'm sorry. I'm... I'm different when it comes to that bastard. If you go outside... you have to stay hidden. And no matter what you see... Chay, no matter what you see, remember that's not the real me... the real me is the me with you, alright? Chay, can you promise me that?"
The more Kim talked the more confused Chay had become. Of course, Chay knew the real Kim was the one with him... of course, he would always be by Kim's side no matter what would Kim do to those who wanted to harm them, but the way Kim worded it and that look on his face... It had started in the pit of his stomach, but Chay knew that something very bad was about to happen... something that was somehow connected to Kim's upcoming death.
Chay straightened his posture and looked Kim straight in the eyes, "Kim... all I can promise is that I'll do anything that is in my power to keep you on this damn ship alive and well! You really think that this is just a coincidence? Your dea—" Chay threw a glance at the pirate still standing at the door and then leaned closer to Kim's ear, whispering, "your death is coming and your number one enemy suddenly attacks your ship? I'm sorry, but this is anything but a coincidence! I understand you want to protect me, but I want to protect you too! So, I'm going out there to stand by your side whether you like it or not. If you want to be mad at me... feel free to do so after this shit show is over! Savvy?"
