— he is there in my heart

I'm falling asleep with him on my mind

I want him here, I want him close

how long can my heart bear such a loss? —

"I can't believe we are letting go of a bloody privateer! If Captain Kimhan were here, such a blasphemy would never happen!" Snail spat out, watching the privateer they held captive for so long walking out from the below deck, Big right behind him with a pistol in his hand, keeping an eye on him.

"If your captain were here, he would let him go as well," Chay said firmly, looking at Snail. "The reason for this man's release is something that is between me and Kimhan. I'm asking you to respect that."

Snail shrugged, "whatever the new captain says. However, I'll ask Captain Kimhan if he had agreed to this the moment we'll see him again!"

"By any means, ask," Chay said and followed Big and the privateer down from the ship. They were on one of the small islands that were on their way back to the Port la Royale. The crew didn't really like the idea of stopping somewhere when they knew that their captain was in mortal danger and they had a destination to be at as soon as possible, but Chay didn't have any idea what they were getting themselves into. The kind of danger they might encounter. He had to make sure that his ancestor won't be in the middle of that. It wouldn't be good if his ancestor would die before having kids. That would make Chay disappear immediately. Chay definitely couldn't afford that.

So, here they were. Small island in the middle of the ocean. Yes, not the safest place to be, but that was the best Chay could do. And he was pretty sure the privateer would find a way to survive. After all, according to what the crew said, the island was inhabited by a couple of families who didn't mind helping pirates in need. Well, a privateer isn't a pirate, but they don't have to know that.

When they were down on the shore, Big stepped away and let Chay talk, "this is where our ways are going to part. Going deeper into the island, you are bound to stumble upon people who live here. You tell them that the Phantom of a Pirate left you here and told you to seek their help."

"But you aren't the Phantom," the privateer kept looking at Chay suspiciously.

"And you are only alive because of me! So quit this douchebag behaviour, say thank you, and start walking!" Chay replied firmly. He wanted to sail again as soon as possible. He had no time nor motivation to explain himself to anyone. They still had something else they had to do before they could arrive at the Port la Royale.

The privateer looked at Chay suspiciously for a couple of more seconds before lightly nodding his head, "thank you. I'm sending my regards to the Phantom." With that, the privateer turned around and started walking until he disappeared somewhere behind the palm trees.
