Jade's HOME
Jade's phone buzzed insistently on her nightstand. She groaned, pulling the covers off and reaching for it. The message from Cimani flashed on her screen:
Cici💕💕💕
we still on for today?
Meet us at the spot!
Jade squinted at the time. It was late morning, and she still had just enough time to get ready. She rolled out of bed, stretching her arms and legs to shake off the last traces of sleep. With a yawn, she stumbled into the bathroom. A hot shower was just what she needed to kickstart her day.
She turned on the water, letting it warm up, and stepped in, letting the steam envelop her. The hot water felt amazing, washing away the tiredness from her body. Jade took her time, letting the water flow over her, and used her favorite vanilla-scented body wash. She scrubbed away the sleepiness and refreshed herself with a bit of self-care.
After her shower, she wrapped herself in a fluffy towel and headed back to her room. She dried off and started getting dressed. She slipped into a pair of straight-leg jeans, which hugged her curves just right. She paired them with a cropped graphic tee. It was simple but stylish, perfect for a chill day out with her girls.
Jade looked in the mirror, deciding to fluff up her hair a bit for added volume. She shook her head and fluffed her curls, giving them a bit more bounce. She added a touch of blush and highlighter, just enough to give her a fresh, glowing look. A quick spritz of her favorite perfume, and she was ready to go.
She took a moment to admire her outfit, giving herself a nod of approval. "Purr, I look the fuck good," she said with a confident grin. She snapped a few selfies to share on her Instagram story before grabbing her keys and heading out the door.
Jade slid into her car, cranked up the engine, and started the drive to "Soulful Spoons," the brunch spot where she was meeting her friends. The drive was short, but it gave her time to mentally prepare for the fun ahead. She rolled up with the windows down, letting the wind whip through her hair.
When Jade arrived, she saw Cimani, My'Ari, and Kailany already at the spot, sitting at their usual booth in the back. The place was buzzing with the lunch crowd, the smell of fried chicken and waffles filling the air.
"What's good, y'all!" Jade called out as she slid into the booth next to Cimani.
"Hey, girl!" Cimani greeted with a wide smile and a hug. "Lookin' fly as always."
