"10 Freaky Girls" by 21 Savage was booming through the house, the bass rattling the walls as I chilled in the living room with Ace, Terrence, Demarcus, and Tray. The air was thick with smoke, blunts being passed around as we chopped it up about the club opening. The excitement was real—Tray's spot was about to be the new hot place in the city, and we were all hyped for it.

As I was talking, my phone buzzed on the table. I glanced at the screen and saw Jade's name pop up.

"Hold up, I'm coming," I told the crew, getting up from the couch. They nodded, barely noticing as they got deep into a debate about VIP sections and bottle service.

I headed into the kitchen, away from the noise, and answered the call. Her soft voice came through, instantly making me smile.

"Hi Zayvior," she greeted, her voice light.

"Hey, what you doing?" I asked, leaning against the counter.

"Um, just getting ready for the day, but I wanted to ask you something," she said, her tone a little hesitant.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Um, so you know my mom is back in town, right? Well, I told her about you, and... she wants to meet you," Jade said, and I could hear the slight nervousness in her voice.

"For real?" I stumbled over my words, feeling a sudden wave of nerves myself.

"Yeah, she's very interested in meeting you," Jade said, chuckling softly, probably picturing my reaction.

"Aight then, when do you wanna set it up?" I asked, trying to sound cool, even though the thought of meeting her mom had me feeling some type of way.

"Is Saturday okay?" she asked.

"Yeah, that's cool. Just tell me what time, and I'll be there," I said, keeping it casual, though my mind was already racing with what I was gonna wear and how I'd make sure to impress her mom.

"Okay, thank you! How was your day?" she asked, switching gears.

I chuckled, leaning back against the counter. "It was good. Just chilling with the boys right now."
