Jade was rushed to the hospital, blood soaking through her clothes as the paramedics fought to keep her stable. The girls were a wreck, pacing the waiting room, their nerves shot as they waited for any news. Minutes later, Zay, Ace, Tray, and Dre barged in, their faces grim as they joined the girls in the agonizing wait.
Zayvior slumped into a chair, lost in his thoughts. If Jade died, he knew he'd never recover. A part of him still wanted to fix things, to talk it out, but he realized it might already be too late.
"Zay," Cimani called softly, breaking through his haze.
"Yeah?" Zay blinked, shaking off the dark thoughts.
"I just wanted to let you know... Jade didn't have any hate toward you. She actually loves you a lot."
Zay nodded, appreciating the sentiment, but it didn't ease the uneasy feeling in his chest. "I appreciate it, but I still want to know what's really going on," he said, eyes narrowing as he noticed Cimani tense up.
"Umm... I don't think it's really my place to say," Cimani stammered, nervously scratching her head.
Before Zay could press her further, the doors to the waiting room burst open, and Big C, Mrs. Alexanders, Ja'zai, and Ja'mir stormed in. The air in the room grew thick with tension as they took in the scene.
"What the fuck happened? Who did it? I want names, now!" Big C demanded, his voice booming as he scanned the room, eyes landing on Zay, Ace, Tray, and Dre.
The boys were too stunned to speak. They hadn't expected to be caught up in this family drama, and now they were right in the middle of it.
"Zay, Ace, Tray, Dre—what y'all doing here?" Big C asked, his tone suspicious.
"Uh... awkward," Kailany mumbled under her breath.
"Not the time, Kai," Cimani muttered, shooting her a look.
"I'm here for Jade," Zay said, standing up to face Big C.
"Why you here for Jade?" Ja'mir asked, his brow furrowed.
Zay hesitated before answering, knowing the truth would only complicate things further. "I'm... her boyfriend," he replied.
"WHAT?!" Big C roared, turning to Mrs. Alexanders, who started scratching her neck nervously.
"Wow... and I'm in the wrong for not telling her about my relationship?" Ja'zai said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"How long y'all been dating?" Ja'mir asked, his voice laced with irritation.
"Eight months," Zay replied, bracing himself for the fallout.
"WHAT?!" Big C shouted again, his chest heaving as he tried to keep his composure. The room fell silent, everyone too shocked to say anything. Then Dre, who had been quietly observing, chimed in.
