Chapter 56
Sahadeva's turnAs Nakula rested peacefully under Draupadi’s gentle touch, Sahadeva watched with a playful gleam in his eye. He couldn’t resist the urge to join in on the attention, especially after seeing how relaxed his brother looked. With a mischievous grin, he leaned closer to Draupadi and, in a teasing tone, said, “Draupadi, I think I could use a massage too. You know, all this teasing is quite exhausting.”
Draupadi looked up, amusement dancing in her eyes. “Oh? And what makes you think you deserve a massage, Sahadeva?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sahadeva feigned innocence, his voice full of charm. “Well, after all the effort I put into teasing Nakula, I think I’ve earned a little relaxation myself.”
Before Draupadi could respond, the other three Pandavas jumped in, ready to poke fun at their youngest brother.
Bhima, always quick with a jest, smirked and said, “Oh, Sahadeva, don’t tell me you’re tired from just a little teasing. Maybe you should stick to lighter work, like picking flowers.”
Arjuna laughed and added, “Or perhaps you should be the one giving the massages, Sahadeva. It might toughen you up a bit.”
Yudhishthira, ever the calm observer, joined in with a smile. “But remember, Sahadeva, massages are for those who’ve earned them. Perhaps you should prove your worth first.”
Sahadeva pouted in mock frustration, but his eyes twinkled with mischief. “I see how it is. You’re all just jealous that I’m smart enough to ask for what I want.”
Draupadi chuckled at the exchange, shaking her head in amusement. “You Pandavas never cease to entertain me,” she said, her voice filled with affection. She then turned to Sahadeva with a teasing smile. “Alright, Sahadeva, come here. But just this once, and only because you’ve been so relentless in your teasing.”
Sahadeva’s face lit up with triumph as he quickly took his place in front of Draupadi, eager to enjoy the same tender care Nakula had received.
As Draupadi began to massage Sahadeva’s head, the other three Pandavas couldn’t resist continuing their playful jabs.
Bhima grinned and said, “Look at him, so quick to claim the prize. Next, he’ll be asking for breakfast in bed.”
Arjuna added with a laugh, “Or maybe he’ll want to be carried around like a prince.”
Yudhishthira shook his head, his voice filled with gentle teasing. “Just remember, Sahadeva, we’re all watching. Don’t let it go to your head.”
Sahadeva merely smiled, enjoying the massage and the attention, letting the jokes roll off his back. “Jealousy doesn’t suit you, my brothers,” he said, closing his eyes and basking in Draupadi’s care.
Draupadi smiled as she worked, her hands moving with practiced ease. “You’re all too much,” she said fondly. “But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
As the teasing continued, the warmth and camaraderie among the Pandavas and Draupadi filled the room. Their bond, strengthened by love, humor, and shared moments like these, was unbreakable. And even as they teased and laughed, the deep respect and affection they held for one another was clear, making their connection all the more special.
