Chapter 61:
Lessons of Wisdom and PatienceDraupadi sat comfortably in her chambers, her hand resting on her seven-month-pregnant belly, feeling the gentle kicks of her unborn child. The bond between her and her baby was growing stronger by the day, and she often found herself speaking softly to the little one, offering advice and words of wisdom.
"My sweet child," Draupadi said in a gentle tone, "as you grow, remember that wisdom will be your greatest companion. Always seek knowledge and understanding. But above all, do not test your mother’s patience—because patience is a virtue that I value dearly."
She smiled to herself, imagining her baby listening intently to her words. "Patience," she continued, "will help you through life’s challenges. And trust me, you’ll want to stay on your mother’s good side."
Just then, the Pandavas entered the room, overhearing Draupadi’s conversation with her unborn child. Amused by her words, they couldn’t resist teasing her.
Bhima, with his usual hearty laughter, said, "Draupadi, are you already warning our baby about your temper? Should we be worried?"
Arjuna grinned and added, "Imagine—our child already knows not to cross their mother, even before being born. That’s quite an advantage."
Nakula leaned in, placing his hand on Draupadi’s belly. "Little one, listen carefully to your mother. But don’t be too afraid—your father will protect you if you ever test her patience," he teased with a wink.
Sahadeva chuckled as he joined in. "Yes, Draupadi, it seems you’re preparing the baby for battle already. But maybe give them some time to adjust to the world first."
Yudhishthira, always the calmest, smiled softly at Draupadi. "You’ll be a wonderful mother, Draupadi. Our child will be wise and strong, just like you. But I think you’ll need to be patient with them too."
Draupadi laughed, a warm and loving sound. "I’m simply preparing our baby for the future," she said, her eyes shining with affection. "But you’re right—patience goes both ways."
As the Pandavas gathered around her, placing their hands on her belly to feel the baby’s movements, there was a shared sense of joy and anticipation. They were all eagerly awaiting the arrival of their child, knowing that this new chapter in their lives would bring even more love and unity to their family.
"We’ll make sure our child knows when to be wise and when to be patient," Arjuna said playfully.
"And when to avoid testing their mother’s patience," Bhima added with a grin.
Draupadi smiled, feeling the love and support of her husbands. "Together, we’ll teach them everything they need to know."
In that moment, surrounded by the Pandavas and their shared laughter, Draupadi felt at peace. The road ahead might be challenging, but with her husbands by her side and the wisdom she had to offer, she knew they would navigate it together as a family.
