Chapter 149: Queen's Playful Reprimand

In the privacy of their chamber, the mood was light and playful, a stark contrast to the sternness Draupadi had displayed in the court. The Pandavas, now in a relaxed state after their duties and the intense session of justice, found themselves in a teasing mood.

Draupadi, having shed her royal regalia and settled into more comfortable attire, looked every bit the queen who balanced power with grace. The Pandavas, seated around her, couldn’t resist teasing her about her recent actions.

Yudhishthira began, a teasing glint in his eye, “So, Queen of the entire Suryavansham, Kampalyam, and Indraprastha, how does it feel to have made the kings tremble before you?”

Draupadi chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “It feels quite satisfying, but let’s not forget, the kings’ trembling was merely a reflection of their own failings.”

Arjuna, always quick to jump in with a jest, added, “And here we thought we were the only ones who could make kings shiver. You’ve set quite a precedent.”

Bhima, with a grin, joined in, “Yes, and it seems your method of justice is as effective as it is thunderous. I don’t think we need to worry about any more rebel rulers for a while.”

Draupadi, smiling warmly at their playful banter, replied, “Well, if my actions can ensure peace and justice, then I consider it a small price to pay. But, enough about the kings. How are my dear husbands coping with the queen’s demanding nature?”

Nakula and Sahadeva exchanged knowing looks before Nakula teased, “We are managing, though it does seem that our queen expects us to be perfect in all aspects—ruling, fighting, and, apparently, even in our personal duties.”

Sahadeva added with a smirk, “Indeed. And the way you handle justice with such precision—perhaps you should offer lessons to the other queens.”

Draupadi laughed softly, a genuine, contented sound. “If only it were that simple. But the responsibilities of a queen come with their own set of challenges. Thankfully, I have you all to share in those challenges and to keep me grounded.”

The Pandavas, now more relaxed, appreciated the chance to see Draupadi in this lighter moment. It was clear that while she wielded immense power and authority, she also valued the companionship and support of her husbands.

As they continued their playful exchange, the room filled with laughter and warmth, a reminder of the strong bond they shared—a bond that, despite the pressures of their roles and responsibilities, remained as enduring and supportive as ever.
