Chapter 55:
A Month Along

One month had passed since Draupadi discovered she was pregnant, and the changes in her body and mood were becoming more evident. The Pandavas were doting on her, each one taking turns to ensure she was comfortable and happy. Today, however, it was Draupadi who decided to offer her affection in a small, tender way.

Nakula, feeling the weight of recent responsibilities and the excitement of impending fatherhood, sat on a soft cushion, his eyes closed. Draupadi, with her delicate hands, gently massaged his head, her fingers skillfully working through his hair, easing the tension away.

“This feels so good, Draupadi,” Nakula murmured, his voice thick with relaxation.

Draupadi smiled softly, her touch gentle yet firm. “You do so much for me, Nakula. Let me take care of you for a change.”

As the scene unfolded, the other Pandavas couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease their younger brother. Bhima was the first to speak up, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. “Look at our Nakula, getting the royal treatment! You’d think he’s the one who’s pregnant!”

Arjuna chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Don’t get too used to this, Nakula. We might start expecting you to take over some of our duties now.”

Yudhishthira, always the composed elder brother, couldn’t help but join in the fun. “Maybe Draupadi is just practicing her motherly skills. After all, she’ll need to handle more than just one of us soon.”

Sahadeva, sitting nearby, added with a playful smirk, “But you know, Nakula, if you keep this up, we might all start lining up for a head massage.”

Nakula opened one eye, looking at his brothers with mock irritation, though a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “You’re just jealous,” he quipped. “But I’m not sharing this moment. Draupadi’s care is all mine right now.”

Draupadi laughed softly, her heart warmed by the playful banter between the brothers. She continued her massage, the rhythmic motion of her hands a soothing balm for Nakula. “You all spoil me so much,” she said, her voice filled with affection. “Let me spoil Nakula today. He deserves it.”

The other Pandavas exchanged knowing glances, their teasing giving way to a shared understanding of the deep bond between them all. Despite the lighthearted jabs, there was an underlying current of love and respect that held them together.

As Draupadi’s hands worked their magic, Nakula let out a contented sigh, sinking further into relaxation. “I think I could fall asleep like this,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

Draupadi leaned in close, her voice soft and loving. “Then rest, my dear. You’ve earned it.”

And as Nakula drifted off, lulled by Draupadi’s tender care, the other Pandavas smiled at the scene before them. In that moment, they were reminded once again of the love that connected them all—a love that was growing stronger with each passing day, just like the new life blossoming within Draupadi.
