Chapter 59:
Morning SicknessThe morning sun streamed through the windows of Draupadi’s chamber, casting a warm glow over the room. However, the peacefulness of the morning was interrupted by the soft, yet unmistakable sound of Draupadi’s discomfort.
Draupadi, now two months pregnant, was struggling with morning sickness. She had been feeling unwell for the past few days, and this morning was no exception. She leaned over a basin, her face pale as she experienced another wave of nausea.
Hearing the commotion, the Pandavas rushed to her side. Yudhishthira was the first to enter the room, concern etched on his face. “Draupadi, are you alright?” he asked gently, his voice filled with worry.
Draupadi managed a weak smile, though her eyes showed her distress. “I’m fine, Yudhishthira. Just the morning sickness,” she replied, trying to sound more composed than she felt.
Bhima, always the protector, placed a hand on her back soothingly. “You shouldn’t have to go through this alone,” he said. “Let us help you. Is there anything we can do?”
Arjuna, who had also come to her aid, nodded in agreement. “We’ll do whatever we can to make this easier for you. You’re going through a lot, and we’re here for you.”
Nakula and Sahadeva, ever supportive, began to fetch water and other remedies they had heard could help with morning sickness. Nakula quickly returned with a glass of water and some herbal tea, while Sahadeva brought a cool cloth to place on her forehead.
“Here, Draupadi,” Nakula said softly, handing her the water. “Drink this. It might help you feel a bit better.”
Sahadeva gently placed the cool cloth on her forehead. “Rest a moment. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable.”
Draupadi took a deep breath, accepting the water and the cloth. “Thank you all,” she said, her voice tinged with gratitude. “I appreciate your help.”
As the Pandavas took turns checking on her and offering comfort, Draupadi could feel their unwavering support and care. Despite the discomfort, she found solace in the fact that she wasn’t alone during this challenging time.
Yudhishthira knelt beside her, his hand resting on hers. “We’ll get through this together,” he said reassuringly. “Just remember, you’re not alone. We’re with you every step of the way.”
The warmth of their support helped ease Draupadi’s distress. She managed a small smile, her eyes reflecting the gratitude she felt. “I know,” she said softly. “Thank you all for being here.”
As the morning went on, the Pandavas continued to care for Draupadi, their presence a comforting reminder of their deep bond. The morning sickness, though difficult, was made more bearable by their unwavering support and love. And as they rallied around her, Draupadi felt more determined than ever to face the challenges ahead, knowing she had a family who would stand by her side through thick and thin.
