Chapter 150: Royal Cooking
In the royal kitchen of Kampalyam, the aromas of various spices and vegetables filled the air. Draupadi, dressed in simple but elegant attire, was busy preparing a grand meal. She enjoyed the occasional moments of peace in the kitchen, away from the duties of the throne. Today, however, she had unexpected help.
The Pandavas, eager to lend a hand, decided to join her. They weren’t exactly experienced chefs, but their love for Draupadi and the desire to share in her tasks brought them to the kitchen.
Yudhishthira, carefully chopping vegetables, spoke with a smile, “I never imagined that the affairs of the kingdom would one day lead me to the kitchen. But for you, Draupadi, I am ready to try anything.”
Bhima, naturally, was in charge of the heavier tasks. He stirred a large pot with ease, laughing as he did. “Cooking is just another kind of battle, isn't it? Except, instead of enemies, we conquer hunger!”
Arjuna, attempting to knead dough, struggled a bit but remained determined. “If I can wield a bow with precision, surely I can make a decent roti, right?”
Nakula and Sahadeva, ever the perfectionists, carefully measured out spices, trying to replicate the flavors they knew Draupadi loved. “We may not be as skilled as you,” Nakula said, “but we’ll try to make this meal memorable.”
Draupadi couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of her powerful husbands fumbling around in the kitchen. She was touched by their efforts. “You all are far braver than I thought. Taking on the task of cooking for a queen is no small feat!”
Sahadeva, with a grin, added, “We may be warriors, but we’re also willing to learn. And if it means spending more time with you, Draupadi, then it’s worth every challenge.”
As they worked together, the kitchen filled with laughter and camaraderie. Despite a few burnt rotis and overly spiced dishes, the love and joy that filled the air made the meal special.
When everything was finally prepared, Draupadi looked at the feast they had all created. “Well, it may not be perfect, but it’s the effort that matters. And this meal is filled with love, which is far more important than any royal banquet.”
The Pandavas smiled, knowing that even in the simplest of tasks, they found strength in their bond with Draupadi. And as they sat down to share the meal they had all prepared, they felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that together, they could conquer anything—whether it be a kingdom or a kitchen.
