Time flies so fast, I didn’t know that this will be that long. I thought we will just be doing it for a month or maybe a couple of months, since Lisa and I found ourselves in this strange, undefined space, this situationship. And for the most part, I'm okay with that.
There's something freeing about not having a commitment, about not being tied down by labels or expectations. It allows us to just enjoy each other without the weight of a relationship hanging over us.
But sometimes, in those quiet moments when it's just the two of us, I catch myself wishing that everything between us was real. That we weren’t just playing this game of "what if," but were actually building something solid and lasting. I want to believe that what we have could be more, but I’m also scared to push for it,scared of what might happen if I do.
I woke up feeling warm and comfortable but quickly noticed that Lisa wasn’t beside me. I felt a bit disappointed, seeing the empty spot next to me. Later that day she texted me that she has to leave because of an important meeting.
After 2 days of not seeing each other due to our busy schedules, I am the first one to message her and good thing she replied and promised to meet with me today, I told her I am busy with work the whole day, she said she'll wait.
Lisa ended up accompanying me to visit a bare condo unit.As we stepped into the bare condo unit, the emptiness of the space felt full of potential. I could already envision the transformation—how every corner could come to life with the right touches. Lisa was right beside me, as she’d been for most of this trip, and I couldn’t help but feel a warmth growing in my chest.
We’d been spending so much time together lately, and it was in these quiet moments—like walking through an empty condo—that I found myself slowly falling for her. The way she supported me, the way she looked at me with such care, it was becoming impossible to ignore the feelings that were building up inside me.
I pulled out my iPad and began sketching, my mind already buzzing with plans for how to transform this space.
Lisa stood beside me, watching intently as I worked. I could feel her eyes on me, and when I glanced up, I noticed the way she was looking at me—amazed, almost like she was seeing me in a new light.
"You’re really in your element here, aren’t you?" she said, a hint of admiration in her voice.
I smiled, feeling a little bashful under her gaze. "Yeah, I guess I am. I love seeing a space like this and imagining all the possibilities."
Lisa nodded, still watching me closely. "It’s impressive how you can just… see it. I mean, I look around and all I see are walls, but you’re already designing the whole place in your head."
I laughed softly, touched by her words. "It’s just what I do. But it’s nice to know you think it’s impressive."
"It is," she insisted, her voice sincere. "You’re amazing at this, Jen."
As I continued designing, I couldn’t help but notice how Lisa kept feeding me compliments. Each one made me feel a little more confident, a little more proud of what I was doing. But there was also that playful side of me that wanted to tease her a bit.
I walked over to the kitchen sink, inspecting it closely. "Pretty nice and wide." I said, my voice casual but my eyes on Lisa, waiting for her reaction.
