Jennie's POV:

Friday rolled around, and Rosé texted me, asking if I wanted to go to the bar with her and some friends. I hesitated at first, but then I thought about how nice it would be to unwind and get out of my head for a while.

"Sure, why not?" I replied. It felt like the perfect chance to have some fun and maybe even meet new people.

The bar was buzzing with music and laughter when we arrived. It was packed with people dancing and chatting, and  the energy was infectious. I found myself starting to relax, enjoying the lively atmosphere. Rosé and I grabbed drinks and headed to a table where Jisoo and some other friends were already seated.

"Hey, Jennie!" Jisoo greeted me with a bright smile.

"This is Hanbin, a friend of mine, we work in the same company."

Hanbin was sitting across the table, and he gave me a warm smile as I sat down. "Hi, Jennie. It’s nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand.

"Nice to meet you too," I replied, shaking his hand. He seemed nice—approachable and easygoing.

We started talking, and I found out that Hanbin had a great sense of humour. He was telling stories about his adventures while travelling and making everyone laugh with his animated gestures and expressions. It was refreshing to talk to someone new, someone who seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me.

"So, Jennie, what do you do?" Hanbin asked, leaning in slightly to hear over the music.

"I’m an interior designer," I said, taking a sip of my drink. "It keeps me busy, but I enjoy it. It’s always fun to create beautiful spaces. What about you?"

"I’m a graphic designer," Hanbin replied. "I love creating things and working on different projects. It’s never boring, that’s for sure."

"That sounds interesting!" I said, genuinely intrigued.

"Designing anything is like bringing a vision to life, and it’s always amazing to see the final result."

Hanbin laughed, and it was easy to see why Jisoo had brought him along. He was easy to talk to and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. As the night went on, we continued chatting, exchanging stories, and learning more about each other.

I caught myself feeling more at ease, even enjoying myself. Maybe it was the drinks or the music, but being around Hanbin and my friends felt like a step toward something new.

I was mid-conversation with Hanbin, laughing at one of his stories, when I noticed a familiar face walking toward our table. It was Lisa. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, and a rush of emotions hit me all at once—surprise, confusion, and a hint of resentment. After weeks of radio silence, I hadn’t expected to see her here.

She approached with that familiar swagger, the kind that drew everyone’s attention. As she sat down in front of me, I forced myself to remain composed, determined not to let her see how much her presence affected me.

"Hey, Jennie," Lisa greeted with a casual smile, as if the past few weeks of ghosting hadn’t happened. Her tone was light, as if we were just old friends catching up.

"Hi." I replied, matching her nonchalant vibe. I didn’t want to give away how much I had missed her or how her absence had left me confused. Instead, I focused on Hanbin, who was still sitting beside me, eagerly chatting about his latest project.

Lisa joined the conversation effortlessly, but I could feel her eyes on me whenever I turned my attention back to Hanbin. It was like she was silently observing every interaction, watching how I laughed at Hanbin’s jokes or nodded along to his stories.
