Jennie's POV:
When Lisa said yes to joining me in the UK, I felt really happy. I had been worried she might turn down the offer, especially since she’s been a bit distant lately. But I told myself she’s probably just busy, like I’ve been. We both have a lot going on.
This trip is a mix of work and vacation—two days of business and personal stuff - and five days to relax. I really wanted Lisa to come. It wouldn’t be the same without her. I finished packing the other night, excited for the week ahead.
Today’s the day we left, and Lisa insisted on picking me up. It was a relief, really—it made me feel like she was just as eager as I am. I got a message from her saying she’s on her way, so I grabbed my bags and headed down to the lobby.
As I stood in the lobby, I saw Lisa’s car pull up, and my heart skipped a beat. It’s funny how much I missed her, even though we’d just seen each other the other day. She had visited my place, bringing dinner and dessert, like she always does, and of course, things ended the way they usually do. But seeing her now, it felt like it had been much longer.
Lisa stepped out of the car, looking as effortlessly cool as always. The moment our eyes met, I felt that familiar pull toward her. She walked over with that little smirk I loved, and I couldn’t help but smile back.
"Hey, you," she said, giving me a quick once-over.
"Need help with those bags, or are you planning to carry them all yourself?"
"Please, you’re here to work, aren’t you?" I teased, handing her one of the suitcases.
"Besides, you’re the one who insisted on picking me up. This is part of the job."
She chuckled, taking the luggage from me with ease. "Yeah, yeah. I'm just making sure you don’t overwork those pretty little arms."
I playfully nudged her with my elbow.
"I’ll have you know I’ve been working out."
"Oh, I remember," she said, her voice dropping a bit, a mischievous glint in her eye. "You showed me just how strong you are last time."
I felt my cheeks warm at the memory, but I didn’t back down. "Well, maybe I’ll show you again if you’re lucky."
Lisa laughed, that deep, genuine sound that always made me smile. "I’ll hold you to that, Jennie."
As we loaded the luggage into the car, I felt a sense of ease settle over me. Whatever distance had been between us these past few days seemed to melt away, and I was just happy to be with her, heading off on this trip together.
From the moment we got to the airport, I felt like I was living out some fairy tale, with Lisa as my knight in shining armour. She insisted on carrying all my luggage, got our tickets, and handled the check-in without even breaking a sweat. I barely had to lift a finger—just clung to her arm while she led the way, making sure we didn’t get lost in the sea of travellers.
Lisa was always like this, taking care of everything, making sure I was comfortable. It was sweet, and I couldn’t help but feel like her Disney princess, spoiled and pampered. When we finally got to the gate, she made sure I had a good seat and even offered to grab us some snacks before the flight.
