Jennie's POV:
It's already late when I finally woke up, the memories of last night flooding back as I stretched beneath the covers. Lisa had turned the tables on me, ending up tying me instead. The thought brought a smile to my lips that I couldn’t hide.Glancing at the clock, I realized it was already 9 a.m. I quietly slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Lisa, who was still sound asleep. After calling room service to bring up our breakfast, I made my way to the bathroom to freshen up.
As I stood in front of the mirror, splashing water on my face, my mind drifted to the decision I had made. It was something I’d been contemplating for a while, and now, being here in the UK, it felt like the right time to move forward with it. The thought had made me hesitant at first, but the more I considered it, the more certain I became.
Today, I would freeze my eggs.
It was a major decision—one of the biggest I’d ever made—but I felt calm and resolve as I thought about it.
Irene, a close friend of mine and a doctor, worked at one of the hospitals here. She had offered to help me with the procedure, and I trusted her completely. Knowing she would be there gave me the confidence to go through with it.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the decision settle in. It was a step toward securing my future, and although it felt a little daunting, it also felt empowering. I knew it was the right choice for me.Stepping out of the bathroom, I saw that Lisa was still peacefully asleep. I watched her for a moment, feeling a rush of affection. There were so many things in my life that were uncertain, but in this moment, I felt grounded in the decisions I was making.
As I heard a knock on the door, I knew our breakfast had arrived. I quickly went to the counter to grab some extra plates, but before I could reach them, I felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around me from behind. A warm smile spread across my face as I leaned back into Lisa’s embrace.
"Good morning," she murmured, her voice still husky from sleep.
"Good morning," I replied, turning my head slightly to catch her lips in a quick kiss. "Did you sleep well?"
"Like a baby," she said with a grin, nuzzling into my neck. "You tired me out last night, you know."
I chuckled, feeling the blush creep up my cheeks as I remembered exactly how the night had unfolded. "You were the one who turned the tables on me. I wasn’t expecting that."
Lisa just smirked, giving me one last squeeze before letting go. "Well, I like keeping you on your toes."
She headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower, and I started setting the table for breakfast. By the time she came out, her hair slightly damp and smelling fresh, the food was ready. We sat down together and enjoyed our meal, the easy conversation flowing between us as we shared pastries and coffee.
After breakfast, we got ready to head to the hospital. The drive there was quiet, with Lisa glancing at me occasionally, a curious look in her eyes. When we finally arrived, she couldn’t hold back her questions any longer.
"So," Lisa began as we stepped out of the car, "What are we doing here? You’re not sick, are you?"
I paused for a moment, considering how to explain it to her. "No, I’m not sick. I’m actually here to… freeze my eggs."
Lisa looked at me, with surprise and confusion on her face. "You’re freezing your eggs?"
I nodded, my tone becoming more serious. "Yeah, it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while now. I want to make sure I have options for the future, you know?"
