Jennie's POV:
The start of the project was seamless. I went to Lisa’s company to sign the contract, and Seulgi was there to assist with everything. She was professional, warm, and made the process easy. After that night, when I saw Lisa at the restaurant, I hadn’t caught sight of her in the office.
Maybe she really is busy, and I can’t help but feel proud of her success. She’s achieved so much—her dreams, her goals, she’s made them all a reality.
If I were in the same situation as I was four years ago, I’d probably make the same choice. I think I made the right one, even though it wasn’t easy.
It’s been a week since I started working on this project, and everything’s been smooth. I never encountered Lisa again, which is probably for the best. It’s not that I wish to see her, but avoiding her just feels like the easier path.
Working on this project has been a unique experience, one that’s both challenging and rewarding. It feels different from any other project I’ve taken on, partly because of the scale and partly because of who it’s for. Despite the initial awkwardness of reconnecting with Lisa after all these years, I’ve thrown myself into the work with the same dedication and passion I always have.
The building itself is stunning. From the moment I walked through the doors to begin my design work, I knew this project would push me to my creative limits. I’ve spent hours sketching, planning, and discussing ideas with Seulgi and her team, who’ve been incredibly supportive throughout the process. Seulgi, in particular, has been a fantastic partner, always willing to listen to my ideas and offer her own insights.
I’ve been fortunate that the process has gone smoothly. We’re on schedule, and the designs are coming together beautifully. The team respects my vision, and I appreciate their expertise—it’s a collaboration in the truest sense. There’s a shared goal among us to make this space something extraordinary, something that will not only meet but exceed the expectations of those who will eventually use it.Despite the smooth process, there’s been an undercurrent of tension for me. It’s hard not to think about the history I share with Lisa, especially when I’m working in a space that’s so closely tied to her. But I’ve kept my focus on the task at hand. I’m here to do a job, and I’m determined to do it well.
In the quiet moments, though, I can’t help but reflect on how much has changed. I’ve grown, not just as a designer but as a person. Paris shaped me in ways I hadn’t expected, and now, being back in Seoul, working on a project like this, I see how far I’ve come. I’ve learned to balance my personal and professional lives better, especially with Kaleb in the picture.
Even though I haven’t run into Lisa again since that night outside the restaurant, I know she’s still in the background, overseeing everything.Part of me wonders if she’s been avoiding me, just as I’ve been trying to avoid her. But that’s okay. We’re professionals, and we’re both doing what we need to do to see this project through.
But today feels different—probably because Lisa will be in the meeting. I’ve been avoiding overthinking about it, focusing instead on doing my job and keeping things strictly professional.
As I enter the conference room, I can feel a slight tension in the air, but I push it aside. I’m here to work, to present my ideas, and to make sure this project is a success. Lisa is already there, seated at the head of the table, looking as composed and authoritative as ever.
Our eyes meet briefly as I take my seat, and I give her a polite nod.
She asks for my insights several times, and I respond with clarity and professionalism, keeping the conversation strictly about the project. But there’s an undercurrent of something unspoken between us, something I can’t quite ignore. It’s like we’re both aware of the past but trying to move past it, to focus on the now.
