Jennie's POV:

After that day, when Lisa finally told me she loved me, I felt butterflies in my stomach

After that day, when Lisa finally told me she loved me, I felt butterflies in my stomach. Those were the exact words I had longed to hear from her four years ago. It’s funny how, like her, I never laid my eyes on anyone else in all that time.

Despite everything, I realize that I might have matured, but I’m still the same Jennie who’s head over heels for Lalisa Manoban.

I haven’t said the words back yet. It’s not because I don’t feel the same—I do  more than ever. But it’s more complicated now. I have to consider my son, Kaleb. He’s my priority, and I need to make sure that whatever decisions I make are the best for him, too.

Since that day, we’ve been taking it slow, one step at a time. Lisa’s been so thoughtful, always taking me out for dinner and driving me home afterwards. We share these little moments of intimacy, like holding hands or her hugging me, and it feels so right. This time, we both know where we stand, and we’ve made it clear that we’re in mutual understanding.

I’ve decided to accept the second project they offered. It’s not just because it gives me a reason to work and stay close to Lisa, although that’s a bonus. It’s a very good opportunity, one that I can’t pass up. It feels like everything is slowly falling into place, and for the first time in a long while, I feel hopeful about what’s ahead.
It’s 4 PM, and after wrapping up my meeting with Seulgi to discuss the design for the new project, I find myself heading to Lisa's office. I haven’t seen her the whole day, except briefly in the morning when she mentioned she had a lot of meetings lined up.

I gently knock on the door before stepping inside. The sight that greets me makes my heart sink a little—Lisa is sitting at her desk, massaging her temples with her fingers, clearly dealing with a headache.

"Lisa?" I call out softly, closing the door behind me.

She looks up, her eyes tired but softening the moment she sees me.

"Jen, love." she breathes out, managing a small smile despite the discomfort.

"I didn’t expect you."

"I thought I’d check in on you. You’ve been busy all day," I say, walking closer.

"Do you have a headache?"

She nods slightly.

"Yeah, it’s been a long day. There are too many back-to-back meetings."

I reach out and place a hand on her shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Have you taken anything for it?"

"I took some painkillers earlier, but it’s still lingering," she admits, leaning back in her chair.

"But seeing you here… it’s making it a little better."
I can’t help but smile at that.

"Let me help," I say softly, stepping behind her. I begin to massage her shoulders, feeling the tension in her muscles.

"You need to take better care of yourself, Lisa."
