Jennie’s POV:
The world around us seemed to fade away as I stared at her, overwhelmed by the depth of her words. I could feel the love radiating from her, the sincerity in her voice, and the promise of a future filled with happiness and love. There was no hesitation in my heart as I smiled through my tears and whispered the only answer I could ever give her.
As Lisa slipped the ring onto my finger, I couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest, happiest girl alive. The ring fit perfectly, like it was always meant to be there, just like Lisa was always meant to be by my side.
"I love you, Lis," I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion as I looked up at her. Her eyes, filled with the same love and happiness I felt, met mine, and in that moment, everything else faded away.
We kissed, and it felt like every dream I had ever dared to dream was coming true all at once. The warmth of her lips against mine, the way she held me so tightly in her arms—it was everything I had ever wanted. This was it, the moment I had been waiting for, the moment I knew that our future together was real and within our reach.
I could picture us celebrating all the big milestones—Kaleb’s first day of school, family vacations, birthdays, anniversaries—and even the quiet, everyday moments that would mean just as much. The nights we’d spend curled up on the couch, the mornings waking up together, the silly little things that would become our traditions, our memories.
I couldn’t wait to start planning our wedding, to finally stand before everyone we love and declare what I already knew in my heart—that Lisa was the one for me, my partner, my love, my forever.
As I pulled back slightly to look at her, I couldn’t stop smiling.
"I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you," I said.
Lisa’s smile mirrored mine, and she nodded, her eyes shining with the same excitement.
"I love you," she said softly, her hand still holding mine, her thumb brushing over the ring that now symbolized everything we had been through.
We spent the entire day at the park, and Kaleb enjoyed every moment of it. Watching him run around, laughing and playing with other kids, made my heart swell with happiness. Lisa and I sat on the blanket, sharing quiet conversations and imagining our future together.
The ring on my finger caught the sunlight, and every time I looked at it, I couldn’t help but smile.
As the afternoon wore on, we decided to head to my parents’ house. I was eager to share the news with them.Kaleb, tired but happy, fell asleep in the car.
When we arrived at my parents’ house, I gently woke Kaleb, and we headed inside. My mom was the first to greet us, and she immediately noticed the change in my expression.
"Something seems different about you, Jennie," she said with a smile, her eyes narrowing playfully as she looked between me and Lisa.
