The Stark Tower somehow looked bigger than this afternoon. Maybe it was all the lights from the hundreds of windows, or the giant Avengers logo shining so bright I had to squint my eyes. I tilted my head back, trying to spot the top of the building, but it was lost in the clouds. I couldn't help but smile. I didn't even have to worry about my parents until tomorrow. I could just go inside, meet the other Avengers and possibly text Peter to let him know I joined his gang. Yeah, I should definitely do that, update him on the latest events...I can't believe it's only been 8 hours since I've seen him and my entire life has changed.
I took a deep breath to relax and stepped towards the skyscraper's door.

I expected all the Avengers to be asleep, but, when we entered the living room, I recognized most of them (from what I've seen on TV) , sitting on the couch or in the kitchen, snacking. They all turned towards the door and when they saw me, they were surprised and pretty much speechless.
I tried giving them a soft smile. Tony was the first one to speak.
"Hello, fellow friends. Steve." he said smugly.
Captain America rolled his eyes.
"This is Hannah. She will be joining us here for a while and I'm somewhat positive that, with the right training, she might become an Avenger."
"SOMEWHAT POSITIVE?" I asked, causing a woman in a red suit and a man with long hair and a beard to laugh, while the others just smiled.
Tony ignored my question.
"I expect all of you to be nice to her-and by all of you I, of course, mean Loki and Bucky."
A man with a sharp jawline and long hair, slicked back, gave Tony an unimpressed look, while another tall man with a short beard and long hair gave me and Tony an "I'm gonna kill you look".
I instinctively took a step back.
"See, now you scared her" declared Tony, shaking his head disapprovingly.
"Don't worry, he gives us all that look, but I think if he was committed, he would've killed us by now" he told me.
Bruce smiled and said:
"Good to have you back, Hannah".
I returned him a forced smile. There were so many eyes on me, I felt really uncomfortable.
"WAIT A MINUTE! This little mortal has been here before- and I missed it?!" asked the man with the long beard in a deep voice. He approached me with a huge grin.
"I AM THOR, SON OF ODIN! What brings you here, young mortal?" he shouted, shaking my hand so hard I felt my bones being squished.
"Oww..." I grimaced.
"Oh, my apologies to you! I forgot how you little creatures are not indestructible like a God!" he said.
"That's...ok?" I replied, giving him a small smile. He was like a giant cupcake.
"Hi! I'm Clint" a man's head appeared from the vents.
"Umm...hi?" I laughed nervously.
"Oh, this!" he realized my confusion. "I just like it in here, it's quiet as sh-" he started, but the Captain gave him a scolding look.
"So, kiddo. You like knives?" asked a woman in a black spandex suit.
"Oh my God, Nat, you can't just ask people if they like knives!" said the young woman in red, not much older than me, who was sitting on the couch. She had wavy, blondish hair that sparkled with a hint of red.
She approached me.
"Hi! I'm Wanda!" she gave me a sweet smile and I instantly liked her.
"Hi!" I replied.
"Mhm. Tony, may I have a word with you?" asked the Captain, as if it wasn't obvious what he wanted to talk about.
Tony rolled his eyes, but followed him outside the room.
I felt a cold wind against my face and the boy who was in the corner of the room was suddenly next to me.
"Whoa!" I said. "You're...fast".
He laughed.
"Hi! I'm Pietro! I'm her favorite brother" he said, pointing to Wanda. They both had a strong Sokovian accent.
"He's my only brother" she added.
"Um...nice to meet you, Pietro!" I said
"So...where are we on the knives question?" asked Nat.
"Uhm...they're good for chopping vegetables and...stabbing people, I guess?" I said, nervously.
She raised an eyebrow.
"I like her" she said.
****
I heard the door open and saw Tony entering, followed by Steve. Tony had a victorious smirk painted on his face, while Cap seemed annoyed. He approached me.
"Hi! Steve Rogers! I'm sorry for seeming disrespectful earlier. Iron-Brain here got on my nerves" he looked at Tony.
"But it's good to have you here."
I couldn't tell if he meant that. For what it's worth, I didn't even blame him. Most adults don't want a kid around, especially at work. But I was determined to prove to them that I'm capable of a lot more then they think.
"Wanda, be a dear and show Hannah to her room" said Tony, suddenly looking exhausted.
"Which on-" she started.
"Whatever empty room she wants, we've got too many of them anyway".
"Now that's something only a rich person would say" I thought and smiled to myself.
Wanda accompanied me outside the room.
"Look...I don't wanna be causing too much trouble..." I said.
She flicked her hand.
"Nonsense. It's fun to finally have more girls around. Actually...you could get this bedroom" she said, pointing to one of the doors. "It's right next to mine on the left and Nat's on the right. It'll be like girl zone."
"Um...sure! Why not?" I said, entering the room.
The bedroom had a king size bed with a blanket that had the Avenger's logo on it, a night stand with a lamp, a desk and chair, an enormous closet and an even bigger bathroom.
"I-It's...huge." I whispered.
"Well...it's a reflection of Tony's ego" she replied with a smirk.
I laughed.
