A KNOCK ON HIS door alerted the blonde elf, making him jolt at the sound as he did not expect a guest in general. he was comfortably on his bed, fixated in a position where his stomach laid on the hard cushions.

ben perked up, looking around his room with a distinct frown at the mess. his red eyes then shot to the digital clock in his room, it was a little over past midnight which only rose a few questions. who was in front of his door at this ungodly hour?

impressions were never a big deal to him, he didn't mind revealing the messy room and exposing his lack of decency so with a grumble, he called out, "come in."

the elf didn't know who to expect but it certainly shocked him once he caught first sight of you after opening his door. ben fumbled on his sheets, sitting up with a noticeable rush.

his room was dark and overall not tidy in the slightest but that didn't concern you at all. your vacant eyes proceeded to skim the features of the elf, not failing to notice the little robot in his hands. not only that, his hair was a bit disheveled and the tip of his ears were turning red as seconds passed.

"uh." he started awkwardly, looking around in attempts to somehow form a coherent sentence. "hey?"

the attempt made a little laugh bubble out of you, the  sudden feeling of emotions were new but you were getting incredibly used to it, by observation alone you noticed.

ben stared at you for a few, the sweet laughter coming from your lips allowed him to relax, chuckling lightly after.

you inhaled, making a gesture with your hands, "may i come in?" politely asking, you stared at him expectantly.

ben shrugged, "knock yourself out." he eyed the empty space on his bed and with that, you moved to the spot, leaving the door open just a smidge to let the hallway lights illuminate the dark room.

settling in the empty spot while minding your wings, you turned to face the phantom who had a more confident look. you shifted comfortably, your legs dangling from the side of the bed.

"miss me that much?" he teased lightly, raising a brow though his eyes flickered to your back and your hands, "wow, new sense of style. you considering joining the emo band?" he joked, noting the tips of your feathers fading into a black colour along with your arms.

"it wasn't by choice." you chuckled, stretching your fingers for him to inspect better. as much as you wanted to just talk to the elf, you came under different intentions so with a sincere smile, your eyes made contact with the latter. "ben, i wanted to thank you for teaching me how to use my wings."

ben felt a little stricken by your sudden eye contact but he brushed it off with replying, "i barely taught you anything." thinking back, it's been quite a while since that event happened.

"you helped plenty." you pushed further, smiling gently with a certain amount of emotion flickering in your usual dull eyes. ben took notice of the vast change and he couldn't help himself from admiring this new improvement in you.
