IT WAS AN ODD day like no other and stress was eating at you like every other day. so what'd you do when your head began to ache? innovate and create.

you had asked sadiya for broken or possibly non usable devices for you to tear down and without question, the woman allowed you in a room full of the things you grew up to love with.

now you were situated on the dining table with a tool box nearby as many parts of a broken toaster was taken apart. the parts of the device were sprawled across the table, covering every inch of the surface.

you were focused on taking apart the circuit board with simple yet rusty tweezers, applying more force than necessary to actually get the tool to pinch at the wires. this is what you did. from the moment cody attacked you till now, you worked on this side project to get your mind off the hectic things going on. it lasted for hours till dawn actualy dwelled upon the earth.

the rays of the golden hour seeped through the windows that you opened, giving more lighting as you focused ten times harder now. everything around you was a white noise and a blur, everything but the very thing you were locked on.

to be frank, the side project was definitely going smoothly, however you'd admit having your own tools and technology would be a bit better and way easier to do this small gig. though you weren't gonna complain out loud, the familiar ego swelling in your chest tenth fold.

even then, you still relied on blueprints and sketches so you weren't really bothered. you had managed to made infrared goggles using the infrared radiation component in the toaster and a pair of scuba diving head gear. you assumed the device would last about seven to nine hours minimum, given the fact it's made out of used and beaten scraps along with a small charge of power by a battery that sadiya had kindly let you use.

it worked well, a little too well but by presentation looks, it surely would fit in with metal garbage. peaking through the goggles, you turned the device on, seeing the electromagnetic radiation through the lenses. humming in slight satisfaction, you placed the DIY invention back down with a sigh.

for the fifth time, you clicked your tongue when you felt your wings come to your sides. they've been nothing but annoying this entire process and you'd have to shove them behind you. having a pair of extra limbs that could grant you the ability to take to the skies sounded like a dream come true but why have something organic when you could build something that could do the same thing?

these feathers were starting to tick you off.

frowning, you leaned and melted into the seat you were sitting in. despite using this time to make ugly inventions, you still couldn't stop your mind from wandering to the prior events. toby was hiding something from you and it made you feel a bit raged by the fact that he was keeping you in the dark like that.

you did confront him about it, he reassure you and told you that he'd tell you soon enough but not now. you scoffed in his face and rolled your eyes, sulking ahead into the kitchen with a frown.
