AN ENDLESS VOID is where you stood in, your feet planted on the black surface you stood on however it seemed like an endless hole, void of any lights or shadows.
in spite of that, your figure seemed to illuminate in the darkness, giving light to your features since you could see your fingers once you moved them in your sights.
you still had your wings folded tightly behind you. no longer wearing your casual clothes, they were replaced with your original silky robe that you wore when you first woke up as an angel in this world. on top of that, instead of black finger tips and feathers, they were back to their pure white snow colour, the change letting a soft hum escape.
where were you?
clearly there was no inner demon here, undeniably an angel wouldn't have a demon of her own.
suddenly, a draft passed by which made you turn to the direction of where it came from. expecting to see nothing but darkness until your eyes widened in contrast to see a human there.
it was you.
well, the old you specifically.
there was a casual smile on her, a bit smug but sympathetic at the same time.
"hey, you finally made it." she greeted like a normal tuesday, her hands deep in her pockets as she shortened the distance between herself and you.
you were too shocked to speak, idle and stunned. eventually, you pursed your lips, recovering from the surprise as your mouth suddenly went dry.
"it's you.." was all you could muster out, not believing the sight before you.
she laughed airily, shaking her head, "well best believe it, angel me." the grin on her lips never left, you watched as she scratched her nape in thought, trying to think of what to say. "must be hard for a saint like you in that world eh?"
"definitely..." you nodded with a sigh, the shock finally fading away as your wings no longer tensed and clenched from the bombshell .
she grinned brightly, shrugging her shoulders, "well first time for everything huh?" all of this seemed amusing for the woman, she had a laid back personality and overall just a calm smile.
unlike you, you felt uncomfortable, occasionally shifting on your feet as you wearily looked around.
she seemed to notice, of course she would. immediately, she voiced your concerns, a bit too casual, "yeah this place isn't cozy. been here for far too long but you'll eventually warm up."
"wha— wait.." brows furrowed, you blinked twice out of astonishment, "here? as in trapped here?"
the latter stared at you nonchalantly, clicking her tongue with a sigh. her hand slithered into her pockets, shrugging her shoulders, "duh, i honestly imagined the afterlife to be more... ethereal?"
