Aeliana stood in front of her family's carriage, taking slow, deep breaths in hopes of calming her nerves. Today was the day she was heading to the academy to take the entrance exam. She had arrived in the town near the academy a few days ago and had been studying nonstop.
She choked on air for a split second and sighed heavily, her mood plummeting as the nervousness wouldn't reduce. She slapped her cheeks and shook her head.
"I got this...everything will be fine!" she spoke to herself, hoping jumping up and down on her heels would reduce her nerves.
Fortunately, it did, and as she got into the carriage, she headed towards the academy gates. She took out her book and began going through it for the last time, making sure she got everything topic down in her mind.
Hours went by before the exam finally came to an end and Aeliana walked out with a grim look on her face. With her head pressing against a pillar, she ignored the stares from the other people who took the exam as well.
'I think I messed up...' she thought to herself, her soul barely holding on.
"What do I do..." she muttered with a groan, feeling a sense of defeat despite not knowing the results yet.
"What are you moping about?"
She slowly turned her head, looking at her brother before sniffling, "I think I failed..."
Marius' brows knitted together, "What made you think that?"
"I don't think my answers are correct.."
Darius patted her head gently, "I'm sure you passed Eli. You studied so hard, there's no way you didn't pass."
Aeliana looked up at him and sniffled slightly, "You think so?"
He smiled and nodded, "Of course, we believe in your skills."
Marius scoffed, "You mean just you, Darius. I bet she didn't get in."
She frowned and kicked Marius in the knee, "Why are you being mean to me!?"
"Ow! What the heck!? It's your own fault you don't believe in yourself, so why should I?"
Aeliana glared at him, her cheeks puffed up in annoyance before turning away in anger. Darius got between the two of them and held his hands up, lightly waving them back and forth.
"No fighting, you two. Since you finished the exam, why not we head to town for some food?"
"Fine but where's Brother Claud?"
"I'm not sure, brother should be here by now.." Darius answered in an unsure manner before another voice yelled loudly,
"I'm hereeee!!!"
Claud hurriedly stopped his heels before he crashed into them and smiled, his chest heaving as he spoke, "I was stuck in a meeting, sorry."
His eyes shifted from Aeliana to Marius before turning to Darius with a confused smile as he questioned, "What's up with those two?"
"They fought."
Claud snorted, "Again? Every time they see each other they fight now."
Marius clicked his tongue, "It's not my fault she's so cranky these days."
"It's not my fault Marius is an asshole."
"You shouldn't say such bad words!" Claud scolded, lightly hitting her on the head.
She huffed and walked away first, "Let's go already."
As she walked away, all three of her brothers noticed something and their eyes fell downwards before they paled in horror. They looked at each other, silently pointing at Aeliana frantically.
