The day of the event came, and as the new batch of students walked through the club stalls, hoping to get new members, Aeliana was busy preparing for the short performance she had to do.
Although it was more on demonstrating the members' skills, it was a good way to gain more interest and attention onto their club. She changed out of her uniform and into a more suitable attire. She wore a white peter pan collar shirt, long pants, and boots. Attaching her quiver around her waist, she securely wore her leather arm guard and tied her hair into a ponytail.
"Aeliana, are you ready? It's almost your turn." one of her club members spoke, lightly knocking against the wood to gain her attention.
"I'm ready. Coming!"
She grabbed her bow and headed out. She almost stumbled in shock when she noticed the crowd of people around their archery practice ground. Half of them were the new batch of students, holding flyers that had been given out at the beginning of the event. However, the other half were students who were already studying in the academy.
At first, she wanted to point that out but after a quick thought, she concluded not to question anything and focus on her demonstration.
Aeliana made her way over to the spot she needed to be and took out her bow. After double-checking that her equipment was in good shape, she took out an arrow from her quiver. Placing it against the bow, she took in a deep breath and pulled the bowstring backwards.
The arrow lightly shook but stabilised. Her left eye was closed as she stared at the target and with sharp precision, she released the arrow before immediately grabbing another arrow, shooting the next one without breaking focus.
The aftermath of the shots being released echoed through the practice grounds. Soft murmurs could be heard behind her as she relaxed her body and brought her bow down. She turned towards the crowd and with a smile, she bowed, ending the short demonstration with both her arrows stuck on the centre of the target.
Aeliana was taking off the gear when she heard her club president speaking to her with an excited tone.
"Aeliana! Thanks to your short performance, many students want to join our club!! We need to have you do it every year then!"
She smiled and waved it off, "I'm glad everything went well. I'll be leaving first, president."
Her president nodded happily, "Alright! Have fun and thank you again~!"
After she left the archery practice grounds, she noticed her friends walking up to her.
"You were great Eli!" Violetta said, squealing with excitement as she shook Aeliana's hands.
"Your hard work paid off, it was really amazing." Daphne nodded, clapping her hands.
Remi gave her a side hug as she shouted, "It was so cool! I knew you were great at archery but I didn't think you were this good especially after three years!"
Aeliana laughed, happy to be surrounded by her friends, "Let's go celebrate at the cafeteria, my treat!"
Despite all of them being in different statuses, hearing that made them grin cheekily. After all, it was free food.
As Aeliana walked away with her friends, multiple pairs of eyes followed the walking figures, soft murmurs echoing around.
"Dude hurry and ask her!" a boy with short black hair muttered, elbowing the other person.
"Yeah or else you're going to miss the chance." another boy added.
"O..okay! I'll go right now—"
The boy in between the two friends of his spoke but instantly halted his words as he made eye contact with the twins. Marius shot him a harsh glare, cracking his knuckles while Darius had a smile that sent shivers down the spine.
