My sweet addiction is right in front of me.
In my office.
And I waited for this moment for so long.
I take my glasses off to get a better look at her, she’s letting her dark brown shoulder length locks down and the blue she’s wearing brings out the color of her hair. She’s also tall and her blue heels are making her seem taller.
I stand up extending my hand, “Omer Mughrabi”
She takes my hand; her soft small one disappears into mine.
“A pleasure to meet you, Sir. Aurora Soliman” she introduces herself.
I gesture for the chair in front of my desk, “Sit down, Aurora”
Then round my desk slowly to stand in front of her looking her down.
Those eyes; totally different looking at them in real life.
“Tell me, Aurora, are you comfortable here?”
Her eyes do a little blink showing that she didn’t expect such question, “In fact, yes, I wanted to thank you for what you did,” she pauses then goes on “with transferring me to stay at Chelsea with Miss Lamrani” she finishes smiling politely.
“It’s nothing” I sit in front of her on the other chair.
“What do you expect from us?” I shoot the other question.
“I came here hoping to be a part from NV Valley’s group so, I hope to learn from the best and benefit from their experience”
I nod “You will” I say and look at her intently, “We do not expect from you but hard work and staying on the top ranks; there’s a kind of a competition between the interns of the company and the interns of other companies. So, if a candidate does not do their best they’re out”
I lean in and tell her “We offer this opportunity for students to learn at this foundation, but the benefit goes both ways. So, prove yourself, you’ll shine.” I conclude firmly knowing that she’ll be the only star in this place to shine this year.
She nods saying “I’ll do my best.”
I nod standing and moving towards my desk again and she stands as well “Did you get your program from Miss Lamrani?” I ask.
“She told me that I’ll meet with you then the other interns and at the end I’ll meet with my personal mentor for this year” she states.
I nod, “Good, hope you have a nice day, Miss Soliman”
“You too, Mr. Mughrabi” I let a hint of a smirk appear when I hear it from her mouth and decide to push away the rush of excitement that happened to my insides.
She says as she starts heading for the door “if you’ll excuse me”
“of course.”
“By the way, Miss Soliman” I call after her.
She stops looking at me “Yes?”
“You already met your mentor”.
