"Dionne, are you okay?"
She's walking next to me, but mind elsewhere.
"Di" I touch her arm and she blinks stopping, "Yes, sweetie"
"You're not okay" I state.
"No, I am; just exhausted" I've never seen Dionne like that; she's dim especially when she came in and saw the client that invaded the office. She looks beautiful, long dark hair and tanned skin. She also looks very rich and smart; with the most awful vibes ever. Dareen, I heard Omer say.
I didn't like her at all and I didn't like her looks at him.
Why am I even concerned.
"Di, you can tell me" I tell her softly.
She sighs "Can you just hug me?", my heart clenches and I nod opening my arms for her as she wraps her hands around me.
She pulls away after a few minutes then murmurs "I think he needs that too"
"He needs what? Who?"
"Nothing, sweetie, let's go we don't want you to be late"
It's night and I'm walking back home also; I got the job! I'll achieve my first dream and work at a place that is filled with books and fiction.
I stop to get Dionne chocolate first; she seems like she needs it today.
I think about him as I reach for the chocolate bars when I see the rings on my hand, he seemed tense too at the arrival of the young woman so, I get him one as well before heading back home.
I ring the bell to his place; wondering if he'll be inside as I wait when shuffling is heard before he opens the door, hair wet and with home clothes. God, be easy on my heart.
He's wearing black pants and a white T. He pushes back his wet black locks, looking me down.
"Are you okay?" he's the one concerned about me?
"I am" I say looking down to avoid his eyes, he opens the door wider for me to enter.
I walk inside as I take it in for the first time because I didn't have the time last time. I wince when I remember what happened last time I was here, but push it aside.
The place looks like him, dark but calm and very luxurious as well. It looks like our place, but in darker shades; the couches grey and wooden furniture. It also smells like him; I can't deny it, the place is very comfortable and quiet.
"What would you like to drink?" he asks voice calm and low.
I spin to look at him, he looks so warm right now.
"No, thank you, I just wanted to pass by..." I trail off not knowing what to say.
He smiles his dimple showing "Sit, Aurora" he nods at the couch.
"No" I rush nervous, I reach for my fingers mindlessly and find the rings, I spin the beads when his eyes snap to them so I let them go.
"I mean, I'm on a rush; I wanted to thank you for the gift"
His face softens and adds "it was nothing"
I nod my thanks and pull out the chocolate bar and the pack of sour candy pushing them towards him.
He raises his brow as he takes them from me, a smirk appearing on his face, "What are those, dove?"
"Um, I thought you'd need them" I murmur pressing my lips after.
"And why would I?" he asks teasingly taking a step closer towards me.
He's playing with me and I don't know what's happening to me today.
"Because you seemed stressed, candy helps with stress" I say nodding at the candy in his hands, still not looking at him.
"Like the yogurt?" he asks tilting his head and I chuckle as he smiles back.
"yes" I answer, then I look at him "Good night, Mr. Mughrabi" I say and he takes another step towards me.
"Can I ask for one last thing?" he asks softly and I nod.
"Can you say it with my name?" he asks.
I smile "I already did, Mughrabi"
"No, the real one" he says eyes pleading.
"Good night, Omer" I say softly and move towards the door, I hear him exhale before I exit his place.
