I close the door of our penthouse behind me, the house is quiet and the lights are dimmed.
"Di?" I call for her, but nothing.
I search for my phone and dial her name, it picks up after 2 rings "Yes, sweetie?" her voice is good, thank God.
"Where are you?" I ask concerned.
She huffs out a laugh then, "Take the elevator to the roof and join me"
"Sure" I tell her and head outside.
I enter the roof and smile at the view; it's perfect.
"Looks good, huh?" she says looking at me from her place, she's sitting on a chair, face towards the city.
"Perfect" I say and both of us smile at our first memory.
She holds out her hand for me to join her, I get closer and I hug her.
"When did you get this touchy and super cute little miss, oh or should I say, dove?" she smirks at the nickname he uses.
"No, shut up; I already hardly tolerate it from him all the time"
She laughs and her face softens, "He never did that with anyone"
"Did what?" I say taking a seat.
"Be" She struggles to form words "human."
I furrow my brows confused.
"He's always a machine, no talking, no smiling, no reactions; just work"
I remember our meetings, it's full of all of that.
"How did you guys meet?" I ask
She smiles "At college" then continues, "It was his second one, yes he attended two faculties; to study and know more about the company he wanted to open"
I nod and she goes on, "We met in the activities group, he was so silent like always" then she smiles, "But I don't like lonely and sad people"
"So, I made it my goal to make him just lift the corners of his mouth just a little and I succeeded and he let me sit with him; not talk just sit"
She looks at the city then continues "He is a really good person, but I never saw him give any reactions; even when we both went through a depressive situation together"
I remained silent so she can feel free to talk.
She takes a deep breath then looks at me "You saw this situation today"
"The girl? I don't remember her name-
"Dareen" she says face blank "She was both my and his problem, but it affected me more"
"Who is she?"
"My ex-best friend and his ex-girlfriend" she states looking at her hands in her lap.
I know this struggle; I know it too well.
"You can tell me" I whisper feeling my own ache as well.
"We woke up one day to find her, poof, gone; all gone from the whole country"
I scoff "How?"
"I don't know, we both called, but no one found her; I got depressed and I cried a lot" she pauses "but he? He didn't give any reaction as if he knew it was already coming"
"But I didn't" her lower lip wobbles "People always leave when you get attached" she finishes as a tear escapes her eyes and I close mine feeling her pain.
I reach for her and she hugs my waist instantly and she whispers "Please don't leave, sweetie"
I shake my head as I tighten my grip on her unable to say anything.
I try to comfort her for a while then I tell her "I got you something". Her eyes brighten as she says "What is it?"
She gasps covering her mouth when she sees the chocolate and candy I got.
"You're the best!" she laughs "Let's eat them together" she says tugging me and we go downstairs to have a fun night full of bonding together.
