"Now I can talk with you" I say leaning back after I took the first sip of coffee almost moaning in the middle of the café'.
She giggles "it's the first day and you're already a mess"
"Hey, I'm still not used to this" I say
"Now, I pity him more than you. you seem difficult"
"Who?" I ask furrowing my brows.
"Your mentor" she says pulling out the last syllable.
I roll my eyes "Please, I'm in my euphoria right now. No need to ruin it"
"If you thought about him this euphoria will increase anyways, may be an orgasm" she says wiggling her eyebrows
I almost spit my drink at what she said
"What!? Yes, you don't like him, but don't lie! He's hot" she says smirking.
"Doesn't matter, that doesn't change my opinion anyways"
"Do not deny it, Aurora" she scolds
"What do you want now?" I ask laughing at her attempt to appear serious.
"Say it"
"Fine, he's handsome"
"No, say the real deal"
"He's...ugh" I say at loss at words. Because yes! So damn fine.
"What? That bad" she winks
"Dionne, shut up! how old is he anyways?"
She gives me a mischievous look and asks "Why do you want to know?"
"First, why's that look? And second, can't I ask about the age of my mentor?"
"Wow, you didn't just reply to my question with one, but two questions; I'm impressed" she shakes my hand "Still why are you asking, Miss Soliman?"
I grimace at the mention of the name "Can you please call me by my first name when we're outside the company" I tell her,
I hardly can tolerate being called with it at work already.
"Alright sweetie. Answer me, Ro"
"I don't know, he looks young, but" I stop
"But what" she raises a brow
"But he feels old, he talks like he's a grown ass man"
"He is a grown ass man"
"No, I mean in his thirties Grown ass man"
"He is in his thirties grown ass man"
"Ugh. Di, stop copying me"
"Aww! What did you say! I love the nickname!" she says pouting,
"Dionne, focus here"
"I'm focused sweetie, I didn't say anything wrong!"
"What do you mean?" I say slowly
"I mean that our manager, the owner of NV Valley and fortunately your mentor is 34 years old"
"A what?!" I raise my voice and look around me collecting myself.
She giggles and says before sipping from her coffee "Hope you're into daddies"
I throw the straw packaging at her and she laughs louder.
"Why are you surprised, you said he looks old already"
"I didn't say that, but he sure does not look to be in his thirties. At all."
She smirks "Wait, how old are you, little missy?"
"Shut up"
"Tell me "She whines.
"You know what? My headache disappeared, let's go make our house "Girly"" I quote her words from earlier.
"Hell yeah!" she says as we both stand and she links her arm through mine and we start our shopping journey.
"Aaaaand we're here" she says stopping the car in front of our apartment complex.
"Take half of the stuff so it won't be too much for you "she adds
"No, no you'll get other things it'll be a lot for you, it's fine" I say getting out trying to carry all of the bags we got.
"Try to call the janitor to help you" she calls
"Just go, Di and come back quick!"
I head for the elevator then towards the hallway trying to balance the bags to get out the key card to open the door.
I try to open it, but it doesn't budge.
"Fuck" I whisper putting the bags on the floor to try again, but in vain.
"What is wrong with you, you fucker!?" I mutter frustrated when the door behind me opens and I jump looking behind me.
He's there. And he's looking right through my soul like he did in the morning.
He's wearing a navy dress shirt and grey pants and he sure looks hot.
"Evening, Miss Soliman"
God, that voice again. Stop, Aurora!
"Good evening, Mr. Mughrabi" I say trying my best to hold his gaze that snaps to the card in my hands and then the door.
"You need help there?" he asks voice low jerking his chin for the tiniest bit towards the door of my apartment.
"Uh, no" I tell him. Dionne will be here by any minute anyways, but she said the grocery store is half an hour drive.
He tilts his head at me not believing what I said.
"Fine, yes the door doesn't open" I show him the card.
He walks towards me slowly taking the card from me as our fingers brush, a surge of electricity spikes through my spine.
He tells me "The key requires your fingerprint to unlock the door"
I say nothing as my mouth forms an o shape then I say,
"So, what am I supposed to do, now?" I ask tilting my head backwards to look at him.
He licks his lower lip then adds calmly, "add it there" nodding towards the small screen and I spin facing it as he comes next to me.
I caught a whiff of his perfume; it's something warm with a hint of spice and utterly masculine.
I apply my fingertip, but the screen doesn't light up as it always does with Dionne.
He covers my hand with his moving my thumb upwards for a bit and presses on it then the screen comes to life, he passes the card in front of it and the door opens.
"Wow, uh" I hesitate before spinning back towards him.
"Well, thanks" I say nonchalantly.
"My pleasure" he says shifting his body, getting closer in the process and I know I did a mistake when I look in his eyes.
They are the warmest shade of honey brown, the small light from the hallway is reflected on them making them look deeper. His intense stare breaks as something passes through them making the sharp features of his whole face soften.
"Ro! Fuck! I'm so sorry I forgot you haven't added your fingerprint yet" Dionne interrupts rushing towards us.
We break our gaze as soon as we hear her voice and the mask of cold boredom is back on his face again.
"It's okay, Mr. Mughrabi helped here" I say bending to grab the bags and head inside without any other word.
