“We really need coffee” Dionne says stating the most beautiful sentence since the day started.
“Music to my ears” I reply from my place sprawled on the couch in her office head thrown back.
The day was tiring; I met a lot a lot of people and I’ve never been good at …peopling recently.
My social battery is drained, I’m in heels and I need a painkiller to deal with my migraine.
“The mall!” she says loudly causing me to wince.
“What mall are you talking about?”
“we’ll go get coffee then we’ll buy some stuff to redecorate our place so that my new roommate doesn’t get bored” she says winking at me.
I smile at her cuteness “your new roommate won’t be bored; besides the place is heaven already”
“Oh, baby I know that, but I’ve waited for so long to decorate the place and make it girly” she says using the most adorable puppy eyes I’ve seen. Wait, my heart can’t clench at that.
“Why didn’t you do that before?” I ask
“Because no one was there to share it with me. Imagine living in this huge ass house, alone”
“perfection”
“Hey!” she throws a rolled paper at me.
I giggle “Okay, fine. I’m in.”
“Best. Roomie. Ever!”
I smile at her enthusiasm “But I’ll have to change first I can’t go with those heels; my legs are about to fall off”
“You’ll get used to them, sweetie. And of course we’ll go home to change, let’s go!” she chirps gathering her belongings gesturing for me to follow her outside.
“We finished the day already?” I call after her.
“Yes!” she yells still heading for the stairs.
I look around me realizing I have to follow her or I’ll get lost. I gather my stuff and go after her “Wait for me, I won’t forgive you if I got lost here alone”.
