I enter the garage heading for my car as I dial Crew’s number.
“Yes, Mughrabi”
“Go to the company, do not leave till you see her leave”.
“On it” he says before I hang up.
I know what I’m doing is not right according to a lot of people, but it is right for me so, I’ll do it anyways.
I am getting ready for a meeting for the new campaign when I hear my phone ring.
“Yes” I answer.
“Excuse me, Mughrabi. But did you lose your mind!” Dionne yells on the other side on the line.
“Watch it”
“Okay sorry, but your actions are confusing the hell out of me and creeping the girl out!”
“Well, she wasn’t that creeped out when we met” I quip.
“She hates you”
Ouch, doesn’t matter anyways.
I do not say anything; bored with this conversation already.
“Mughrabi tell me what’s happening?”
“There’s nothing to say”
“Really? Cause last I remember that you do not mentor”
“I want to this year. End of discussion”
She pauses as she takes a deep breath, “Fine, Mughrabi, but just tell me when you feel like it at least to calm the girl down.”
“I didn’t ask for you to calm her down. Leave her for me”
“This doesn’t seem reassuring at all, but fine”
“I’m not looking for reassurance”
“Alright, but be easy on the girl or pass her to someone else. She’s got a lot up her sleeve already”
“Do not repeat that again”
“Repeat what?”
“She’s not for someone else.”
“but”-
“I got to go now” I say before hanging up.
