A/n: I know this probably isn't realistic or how being abandoned works but its just a random idea I had
Y/n and hawk were siblings that came from a broken home. There parents are very poor and dont have a lot of money for food or anything really.
Hawk always tries to help and make sure y/n has enough food by giving his food up. Shes only 5. Sometimes he'd even go dumpster diving for food after he'd given her his food so he doesn't starve.
Hawk couldn't take that anymore though. He couldn't handle letting y/n live in such horrible conditions. He was used to it but y/n deserved better to him.
Everyday hawk would take y/n to the park after school and today they did that like any other day.
For a while y/n just played on the swings and the see saw until she noticed hawk wasnt in the park watching her from the bench. He was nowhere to be seen.
Y/n rushed around the park looking for him but after a while she sat on a bench crying and hungry. She felt abandoned.
" are you okay" a woman asked.
Y/n looked up at her with puffy eyes and tears streaming down her face.
" no. My brother left me here and I'm hungry" she cried.
The woman sat next to her and rummaged through her bag.
" would you like a cookie" she asked sweetly.
Y/n smiled and took the cookie.
" do you have any idea where your brother went" the kind lady asked.
" no" y/n cried.
" do you know his number so I could phone him for you" the lady asked wanting to help this little girl.
" he doesn't have a phone. We can't afford one. We cant even afford good food" y/n said.
The ladies face softened. She realised maybe her brother left her here because her family can't afford for her to have a good childhood with them and she was right. Hawk left her there hoping maybe someone sweet would find her and maybe call child services and she can get fostered into a nice home. Somewhere she can be happy.
" okay. How about you come with me? I'll make you some food and we'll go from there" she asked standing up and reaching out her hand for y/n to hold.
Y/n smiled and went with the lady not knowing eli was watching from afar. He was crying not knowing if he'll ever see y/n again but he had a pained smile on his face. He hoped that woman was nice and will help y/n and from what he saw she will and she did. She fostered y/n and raised her like her own doing what eli always wanted for y/n. Y/n had a really good childhood because of elis sacrifice.
