Y/n refused to go to school for a whole week after hawk broke her arm. She couldn't face him but she couldn't hide forever and her best friend demetri promised he would be there for her.
So y/n returned to school today. Her arm was still in a cast so demetri was helping her carry things like her books and things.
" hey how are you?" Demetri asked when y/n walked in to school.
" I've been better" she said forcing a sad smile.
Demetri returned the sad smile and hugged her. He feels so guilty for not protecting her. He wishes he was able to push hawk off of her but demetri got hurt badly in that fight too. So he couldn't.
" I'm sorry y/n I didn't protect you" demetri said ashamed of himself.
" don't be silly. Theres only one person to blame here and that's hawk" she said.
She no longer could call him eli. He wasn't eli. It was like he was possessed by hawk. He was unrecognisable.
" yeah but still......" demetri continued but y/n interrupted.
" no demetri stop. Its not your fault end of" she smiled walking away to her locker Demetri following behind quickly.
Y/n started worrying she was going to see hawk but she tried to hide it infront of demetri.
As she opened her locker hawk rounded the corner and spotted her and demetri helping her.
He froze and stared. The guilt came back to him. Seeing her with the cast on made her arm made him tear up. It kills him to know hes the reason shes injured like that.
" shit" demetri mumbled spotting him staring.
Y/n looked at demetri confused but then out of the corner of her eye she saw his red mohawk.
She looked at him fully and saw his guilty face. Y/n froze in fear. It was like she was back there begging him not to do it when she was looking at him.
Demetri noticed how scared she looked and decided to do something to help.
" hey asshole keep walking" he said approaching hawk.
Y/n grabbed demetris arm. She didn't want hawk to hurt him too.
" y/n...." eli started. It looked like he was tearing up.
" no don't talk to her. Stay away from her. You have no rights to be near her after what you did. So keep walking" demetri somewhat shouted.
Usually hawk would shout back because it was demetri but he didn't want to scare y/n more. He didn't want her to be feeling anything else bad because of him. So he just walked off not looking back.
" thank you" y/n said crying a little bit.
" don't have to thank me. I'm not going to let him hurt you ever again" demetri said hugging her again.
Y/n looked over demetris shoulder as they were hugging and saw hawk look back. His facial expressions were showing eli was still in there. He looked so sorry and confused which crushed y/n but he wasn't the same person and even if he did apologise y/n could never look at him the same way. To her eli was dead.
