Its been 2 years since eli left y/n in the playground and the sweet lady found her and fostered her. She was 7 now. The sweet ladies name was Mary.
Y/n loved living with mary. Mary was always baking y/n cookies and taking her to the playground. The same playground eli once left her in. Every time y/n there she keeps her eye out for eli just in case he comes back for her.
Eli wanted to see y/n again. He missed her so much but he knew she was better off being out of there house. This was no place for a child to grow up. He knows that from experience.
Eli did look for y/n though. It took him a while to find her because he didn't know the woman's name she was living with but after a few months he managed to find her.
It turned out she didn't live far away. Just a couple of blocks.
So he walked to her house nervously. She didnt know If y/n would want to see him. She doesn't know he left her for her. She might be very angry at him.
Eli walked for about 45 minutes and arrived at a nice white clean looking house. He nervously approached the door and knocked and after a couple of minutes mary answered.
" hello can I help you" she asked.
" ermmm my name is eli. Eli Moskowitz. I'm y/n brother the one who left her in the playground. I just wanted to see her and see if shes okay" he stuttered nervously.
Mary looked surprised. Y/n used to talk about eli all the time and for some reason she didnt imagine him to look so young. He looks like a teenage boy. She always thought eli was in his 20s or something.
" you left her alone in a park and now you want to see her? After all these years" she said defensively.
" yes. I didn't want to leave her but it was for the best. My parents are really broke and y/n would never be able to do the things a normal child should like go on vacation, get really cool presents for there birthday or Christmas or have sleepovers at our house. It would be embarrassing for her showing her friends our house. I just did what I thought was right" eli explained sadly.
Mary looked at the boy softly. She always thought that might be the case after she found y/n and she told her how poor her family was.
" eli?" Y/n appeared behind mary.
Eli smiled with tears in his eyes. She looked so much happier here. She was wearing a nice floral dress and ballet shoes with a princess tiara on her head.
"Y/n. Hi"he knelt down to be level with her.
Eli couldn't tell if y/n was happy to see him or not but then she rushed into his arms for a hug. Eli held her so tight never wanting to let her go but y/n let go of the hug and smacked him on the shoulder angrily. So eli guessed it was mixed feelings seeing him.
" why did you leave me? Did you not want me anymore" she began to cry.
Eli wiped her tears and shook his head.
" no I always wanted you. You were the best part of my life. I didn't want to leave you but you deserved better than the life me and mom and dad could give you. You deserved the life Mary is giving you. That's all I ever wanted for you. I just wanted you to live somewhere where you could be happy and safe and have a normal childhood. I'm sorry I left you but I've really missed you" he cried too.
Y/n smiled. She always thought eli either forgot about her or just didn't want her anymore. So it made her happy to know eli was doing it for her. She had no idea he made such a big sacrifice for her.
" I've missed you too. I think about you all the time. When we're at the playground I always hope to see you there" y/n told him.
Eli smiled.
" well if its okay with you and mary I want to see more of you again. Maybe I could come and visit and hang out with you more" he said looking at mary for approval considering she was her guardian now.
" can he mom" y/n said excitedly. Eli smiled at y/n calling mary mom. That means mary did exactly what eli wanted for y/n. Treated her like a daughter.
" sure. Your welcome to see y/n anytime. You can even stay for dinner if you want" she smiled.
"Thank you. I'd love to" eli smiled as y/n dragged him into the house and wanted to show him her room.
