Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 11

"Do you have to go?" Isabella asked as Kelsey was getting ready to head back to Las Vegas.

"Unfortunately I do." Kelsey said.

"I wish I could go with you." Isabella said.

"I mean, you could." Kelsey said.

"Yeah, but I would probably lose both of my jobs, and I would have to find a cat sitter that isn't Lauren." Isabella said.

"Hopefully you'll be able to visit soon." Kelsey said.

"I'm planning on it hopefully in the next few weeks. If I can't, then I will definitely be at your game against Indiana." Isabella said.

"Well I can't wait to see you again whenever that will be." Kelsey said. The drive to the airport was silent. They both just wanted to enjoy each others company before they had part ways. Kelsey spent most of the ride staring at Isabella. She wanted to memorize all of her features and even the tiny details so she wouldn't forget.

At the airport, Isabella walked Kelsey in, and they hugged for what felt like forever. Kelsey did her best to keep her tears in, but she felt a tear from Isabella drop onto her arm. That's when tears started to fall from her eyes. They hugged for a little while longer before Kelsey needed to get checked in and go through security and all of that. Kelsey kissed Isabella goodbye and walked away. When Isabella turned around, she could've swore she saw JJ standing off to the side by the doors staring at her. But there were too many people around, so she couldn't get a clear view. She brushed it off and walked out to her car. She decided to go to the store and get ingredients to make homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese. She also decided to get an iced coffee on her way home from her favorite local coffee shop.

After returning home, Isabella started out by roasting the tomatoes, onion, and garlic in the oven before she added it to a pot and added the rest of the ingredients. After blending and adding some half and half, she let it sit for a few to cool down. As she was allowing it to cool down, she made her grilled cheese. She already knew her stomach was going to be messed up, but it was the only thing that sounded good. As she was eating, she decided to post a picture of her and Ilona to Instagram and captioned it,

I miss you pookie🥺😭

As comments were rolling in, she looked at a few. One speculated that her and Kelsey broke up already, but someone replied saying that they were spotted in Columbus together on a date. There was another one saying that they missed her too, which Isabella thought was a little weird. But it wasn't the creepiest comment she's gotten. But, after looking at comments for a little and liking a few of them, she decided to FaceTime A'ja. "Hey girl!" A'ja said.

"Hey! I need your help with something. I want to surprise Kelsey for her birthday but need help doing so." Isabella said. A'ja squealed and immediately started coming up with a plan. By the end of their discussion, they were on the phone for half an hour. Isabella and A'ja were excited, and Isabella couldn't wait for it to be time for her to see Kelsey again.

The next day, Isabella had the day off from both jobs, so she started shopping for Kelsey's birthday gift. She was terrible at gift giving, but she remembered that Kelsey loves blankets. So she figured she would hand crochet a grey blanket with a red white and black Aces logo in the middle minus the letters because she wasn't that talented at making blankets. She had to go to three different stores for the red chunky yarn, but after she found it, she went home. She immediately started making the blanket since it would take a long while to make with it having a logo. But she turned on Criminal Minds and got to work. She had to take little breaks every now and then, but she managed to finish it in a little over six hours. She was happy with how it turned out considering she's only ever hand crocheted blankets in one color. After she was done, she folded it and put it in a box. Then she decided to eat and call Kelsey since she should be home. They talked on the phone for two and a half hours before Isabella fell asleep.
