~Three days later~

Isabella's condition has been improving, and the doctor feels that she should be able to be off of the ventilator. So, he took her off of it and had her be taken out of the induced coma. Kelsey nor Alana could see her until she wakes up, which could take a few hours. Kelsey was waiting impatiently to see Isabella, and she hated the fact she can't be in her room when she wakes up. Luckily, she woke up nearly two hours later. Kelsey rushed to the room, and she was greeted by Isabella's brown eyes right as she walked in. Isabella smiled softly, and Kelsey quickly walked over to her. Kelsey didn't know is she could kiss her, so she settled on holding her hand and trying her best to hug her. "You have no idea how relieved I am that you're okay." Kelsey said, tears starting to fall. Isabella tried to talk, but nothing was coming out. The nurse gave her some water to drink, and it helped a little bit. But her throat and voice were still pretty scratchy.

"It may take you awhile to get your voice backs since you haven't used it in about four days I believe? Plus you were intubated, so that also affects your voice. But don't worry, you'll be able to speak soon." the nurse said. Kelsey stayed for about half an hour before she remembered that Alana was there too. So she forced herself to get up and allow Alana to visit. When Isabella saw Alana, she started tearing up. They were mainly happy tears since she was happy to see her, but she needed to tell her something that she didn't want to burden Kelsey with.

"I saw my mom." Isabella whispered since that's all she could do.

"What do you mean?" Alana asked.

"I saw my mom three different times, and on the third time, I almost gave up. I didn't have any energy left. But then we walked, and I saw Kelsey sobbing outside while clinging onto A'ja. When both teams surrounded her and prayed for me and Kelsey, I got some energy back and knew I had to keep fighting." Isabella whispered.

"So you actually, like...." Alana trailed off. Isabella nodded her head.

"I'm sorry." Isabella whispered

"For what?" Alana asked.

"You're birthday is coming up, and I ruined it." Isabella said.

"You didn't ruin my birthday. It's just a day to me. I prayed that you would be okay, and you are, so that's really all I need for my birthday. Now I get to tease you about being a danger magnet yourself. Turning into Maggie Bell over here." Alana said, trying to lighten the mood. It worked because Isabella chuckled.

"I'm not as much of a magnet as her, though." Isabella said.

"No, but you sure are starting to catch up to her. And you both have given me quite the scare." Alana said.

"And what about you, Ms. I'm going to pull an Emily Prentiss and fake my death and cause heartbreak for your team just for them to find out you're alive but then pass out and lose your pulse in the middle of the JOC?" Isabella said.

"That's a really long ass name." Alana said.

"Oh my goodness." Isabella said with a chuckle. Isabella and Alana talk for about another half hour before Alana decides to leave and get some sleep. Kelsey walks back in, and Isabella smiles. But that soon fades when the nurse walks in right behind Kelsey.

"Okay so the doctor wants you to try and eat, well I guess sip, on some broth and drinks some water to make sure the bowels are working properly and to make sure you're able to hold those things down. After that I think we could try walking a little bit to get some strength back into your legs that you may have lost." the nurse said.

"I don't have to eat jello, do I?" Isabella asked, her voice starting to come back.

"Not if you don't want to." she said.
