Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 24

~Friday~

Isabella woke up early to get a run in and be able to get to the gun range before she picked up Alana from the airport. She impulsively decided to run 16 miles, and about halfway through she was regretting that decision. But, she was already committed, so she stuck through it. Though it was January, it was still pretty warm to Isabella compared to Ohio. Most runners she saw were wearing sweats and a sweatshirt. Isabella was wearing spandex and a tank top. When she got back to her apartment, she unlocked the door and walked in. She still had her headphones on, so she took those off. Once they were off, she had to take off her tank top because she hated the feeling of it sticking to her body. Her entire body was dripping in sweat. She then took off her shoes.

"Babe, remind me to NEVER run 16 miles again," Isabella said since Kelsey was at her apartment. Since she was still out of breath, she took a second to breathe before going to the kitchen. As she walked through the living room to get to the kitchen, she was completely oblivious to Kelsey, Alana, Missy Peregrym, and Zeeko Zaki sitting on the couch/chair. Alana and Kelsey secretly planned for Alana, Missy, and Zeeko to get an earlier flight so they can surprise Isabella. She's been stressed the entire week and ended up deep cleaning her entire townhouse even though it was already clean. "Kelsey wherever you're at, I'm going to take a shower. As much as I love you, please don't join me. My legs are already like jello." Isabella said with a raised voice before going into the bathroom and turning on the shower. Kelsey's face immediately started to turn red. They already got along well enough to where Missy and Zeeko were comfortable enough to start teasing Kelsey much like older siblings would. Kelsey's face started turning even more red, but that was partly due to laughing.

"Well we have about 30 minutes before she's done. I think she was planning on going to the gun range before she picked up Alana from the airport, but obviously she doesn't have to do that anymore. I'm not sure if she would still want to go to the gun range, but if she does, then I'm sure she would be more than happy to have you guys with her." Kelsey said.

"Gun range?" Zeeko asked.

"Yeah. She's in the police academy." Alana said.

"Oh wow that's so cool! Alana failed to mention that. Or really just failed to mention anything about her aside from the fact that they're sisters." Missy said.

"Oh Isabella is the absolute best. She's very intelligent, loves animals, is such a badass, and regardless of everything that's happened, she still finds a way to keep on track. She may have a few crash outs, but she's never let it stop her." Kelsey said. They all noticed how much Kelsey's eyes lit up and sparkled when she talked about Isabella.

"So how did you two meet?" Zeeko asked.

"We actually met in Paris. She quite literally knocked me off my feet when we bumped into each other on the boat. She was so apologetic, but I couldn't focus on that because once I looked into her eyes I totally got lost in them for a few seconds. But we didn't actually start dating until about a week into the Olympics." Kelsey said with the biggest smile.

"Olympics?!" Missy asked.

"Yeah! I was there for basketball, and she was there for equestrian. We both won gold medals, but she broke an Olympic record in the cross country portion AND made history as being the first female in US equestrian to win a gold medal and first person from the US to win a gold medal in I believe two decades." Kelsey with a proud smile.

"Aww! I think you guys might be the coolest couple I've ever met." Zeeko said. He's a sucker for a good romance story. About 20 minutes later, they hear the bathroom door open.

"Kelsey?!" Isabella shouted.

"Living room!" Kelsey shouted back.

"So remember JJ? Yeah well I guess she's-" Isabella stopped in her tracks as she looks and sees who all is in the living room. Once she registers who it is, her hand covers her mouth as she let out a scream and started tearing up.
