~January 26~

The new year has begun, and Isabella has had the best past two months. She was able to meet the rest of Kelsey's family over Thanksgiving and Christmas, she had her first ever (and hopefully many more) New Years kiss, and now she only had a few more months before she graduates from the academy. Everything was going so well, but then her world came crashing down when she saw a message in a group chat she's in. She immediately called Kelsey since she was at the gym. "Hey babe!" Kelsey answered.

"You're being traded to the Sparks?" Isabella asked.

"What? How- how did you find out already?" Kelsey asked.

"Some news page posted that there's a triple trade or whatever it's called, and you're now going to the Sparks. When were you going to tell me?" Isabella asked.

"I was going to tell you. I just didn't know how." Kelsey said.

"So you let me find out by seeing it on Instagram?" Isabella asked.

"Look, I-" Isabella hung up before she said something she didn't actually mean. Isabella took a deep breath and tried to focus on not crying. She felt hurt that Kelsey couldn't tell her, but she felt angry at the same time since she had to find out on Instagram. Kelsey tried calling her multiple times and texted her, but Isabella had to clear her mind and calm down before talking to her again. It may seem like a silly thing to be mad and upset about, but to Isabella, it was a big deal. Isabella had no idea that Kelsey was even talking to anyone from the Sparks to possibly join their team.

Isabella took a two hour drive before she went to her apartment and called Kelsey. Kelsey didn't answer. She tried calling again, but same thing. She sighed and sat on her couch staring off into space until she heard a knock. She got up and opened the door. Kelsey was standing there with tears falling down her face. Isabella moved over so Kelsey could walk in. Once she did Isabella closed the door. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just- I- I didn't know when or how to bring it up." Kelsey said. Isabella gave Kelsey a hug, to which Kelsey quickly hugged her back.

"It's okay. I'm not upset that you're going to LA. I'm just upset that I found out on Instagram before I heard it from you." Isabella said.

"I get it. It's just, Darren always got upset with me anytime I brought up going to a different team, so I learned to just keep it to myself." Kelsey said.

"Baby, I'm not like Darren. I want you to be playing on a team that you're happy with regardless of where it is. I don't want you playing for a franchise that you're not happy at. I just want you to communicate with me which teams you're thinking about going to and which one you choose so I hear from you and not social media." Isabella said. Kelsey nodded her head and hugged Isabella a little tighter.

"I thought I lost you." Kelsey whispered.

"No. I just needed some space for a little bit. Can't get rid of me that easily," Isabella said, which caused Kelsey to chuckle. Isabella looked up to Kelsey and wiped away her tears before giving her a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you, too." Kelsey replied. Right on cue, Zaida walked in with a meow, so Kelsey picked her up. Kelsey cradled her like she was a baby and walked to the couch and sat down. Isabella sat next to her and cuddled up to her side, being careful to not get close to Zaida. Zaida has compromised to Isabella being able to cuddle with Kelsey when she is, as long as Isabella isn't too close.

Isabella ended up falling asleep, and when she woke up she was in her bed with Kelsey asleep next to her and Zaida right beside Kelsey. Caspian was at the foot of the bed, and Paisley was laying next to Isabella. When Isabella looked at the time, she saw that it was almost four in the morning, so she decided to get an early run in. When she got back she made a quick breakfast and ate before going to the indoor softball field that was turf, and it had batting cages. She wanted to see where she was at with her speed since it's been almost a month since she's checked. It wasn't terrible. She was in the low 60's, but she wanted it to be at least in the upper 60's to low 70's by the time tryouts start. She gave herself an hour to learn a new pitch as well as get some batting in before she left. She went back home and decided to take a shower. She completely forgot that Kelsey was there until Kelsey joined her in the shower. "You know what I haven't done in awhile?" Kelsey whispered in Isabella's ear.
