Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 18

Isabella had to buy all of the supplies she would need for the academy. So, she decided to go to a store that sells everything she needs while she waits for Kelsey to get back from her final team event. They lost the finals, but they still had one last team gathering before their team changes for the next season.

Isabella had to find a certain size of tactical pants that were somewhat comfortable and fit around her thighs and waist since she had thick thighs but a small waist but weren't too long on her since she was only 5'2". She ended up having to special order her tactical pants that would arrive in the next few days. But everything else she was able to get.

As Isabella was on her way back to her house she ended up getting a call from her sister. "What's up?" Isabella asked as she answered the phone.

"We are all back in town for vacation if you wanted to get dinner somewhere." Celina said.

"Yeah we can get dinner. I'll let you guys choose where we go. I know the girls are a little picky when it comes to food." Isabella said.

"Okay. I think I saw a barbecue place last time we were here? Let's go there." Celina said.

"Okay. Send me the address, and I'll meet you there." Isabella said. They said their goodbyes, and Isabella received a message from Celina a few minutes later with the address of the restaurant. Isabella put in the address to her GPS on her CarPlay screen and started driving. It was a 20 minute drive from where she was at. She played music as she drove, and soon enough she arrived at the restaurant. Her sister, her sisters boyfriend, and the girls were waiting outside for Isabella.

"Aunt Izzy!" The girls shouted before running to Isabella.

"Hey! I missed you guys!" Isabella said and hugged them. They walked inside and had to wait a few minutes for a table to open. The entire time they were at the restaurant, Isabella and Celina caught up with each other, and Isabella's nieces were telling Isabella all sorts of stories. Celina's boyfriend paid for the meal, and they all decided to go to Isabella's apartment. While they were talking, and the girls were playing with the cats, Isabella gets a message from Kyra.

Hey girl! Me, Candice, Maggie, Olivia, and Sylvie are going to the softball diamond that is closest to you to get some extra practice in. You're welcome to join us!

Isabella didn't want to say 'no', but at the same time she didn't want to say 'yes' since her sister and nieces were visiting. "What's up?" Celina asked as she noticed Isabella looking at her phone with a blank stare.

"I decided to tryout for a semi-professional softball team here, and they're holding clinics before tryouts. Some of the ladies who are trying out are going to the softball diamond that's about five minutes from here and invited me." Isabella said.

"You can go, you know. Plus if it's at a park, the girls will love to go on the playground while you practice." Celina said.

"Are you sure? I know you guys aren't here for long." Isabella said.

"Of course. Plus we have the whole week to spend time with you." Celina said.

"Okay.... Well if you guys want to, we can all walk down there." Isabella said. Celina agreed, and so Isabella got her softball gear around while Celina put the girls' shoes on. They all walked down to the park, and the girls immediately ran to the playground while Isabella went to the softball diamond. She sat her stuff in the dugout and changed her shoes. Once they were changed and grabbed her glove and went out to the outfield where they were all at.

"Hey girl! We just started stretching." Kyra said. Isabella sat down and joined in. After they were done stretching they partnered up and started throwing a ball back and forth to warm up their arms.

After going through some drills, Isabella and Sylvie broke away from the group and practiced pitching and catching since they would most likely be partnered if they both made the team. They worked on a dynamic that worked for both of them, especially when Sylvie was going to throw the ball to second base. That was the most important dynamic they needed to be on the same page. Sylvie inform Isabella of signals she would use if she was planning on throwing the ball to a base after a pitch. If she didn't signal, then there were signs Isabella needed to look out for if she was going to throw the ball.

After Sylvie and Isabella worked through building their dynamic, they went back to the group, and they practiced what they worked on while everyone else batted. When they were done, they all decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Celina, her boyfriend, and the girls all left because the girls were getting tired and wanted to sleep. As they were waiting on a table, Isabella receives a message from 'Boo bear😘❤️'.

Hey babe! We're just now finishing up, so I can be over soon😊

Isabella messaged her back saying that she was a Texas Roadhouse with some people from the softball clinic and that she doesn't know how long she will be. She guessed she would be home in a couple hours, so she informed Kelsey of that. Kelsey decided that while she was waiting on Isabella she would go to her apartment and set up a little date night since she had a key to her apartment. She figured they could have a little spa and movie night, so she went to the store and bought a few things before going to Isabella's apartment. She tidied up before she set everything up. While she waited, she continued watching Criminal Minds so she can be caught up by the time the new season comes out. She was on the episode with Tracey Lambert, and after she finished the episode she decided she was not eating chili anymore.

Isabella showed up halfway through the next episode of Criminal Minds and was completely taken off guard by Kelsey being there. "Welcome home babes!" Kelsey said and gave Isabella a kiss.

"What are you doing here?" Isabella asked with the biggest smile.

"I figured we could do a spa date night and watch movies until we fall asleep." Kelsey said.

"You always seem to find new ways for me to fall even more in love with you." Isabella said and kissed Kelsey. Kelsey figured they would get started with a shower, so they both went to the bathroom and took a shower together. After they were done, they put on robes that Kelsey picked out and did their skincare. Then they went to the living room and started watching The Polar Express, Isabella's favorite Christmas movie. Kelsey even made hot chocolate for them. Isabella snuggled up to Kelsey, Zaida laid right next to Kelsey, Caspian laid on the arm rest, and Paisley laid on the back of the couch. "I love you." Isabella said just before she fell asleep.

"I love you too." Kelsey whispered as she held Isabella close to her.
