" Oh my God," LuLu gasped as she read and reread the letter from the Maryland Juvenile Justice Department.

Jonah was playing peekaboo with one of the triplets. He didn't know exactly which one though. They were that identical. One was sleeping in the playpen in the living room. The other was being held by his brother Marcus who grinned into her light brown face and tickled her belly.

Jonah looked at his wife who seemed so distressed. What now? Oh please God, Lord, no , please don't let her find something else she just had to spend money on. He was not a poor man but he wasn't wealthy either. It was bad enough he had to get a loan from his brother to tear down the wall between their house and the Norland - Lane one next door. That feud between her and the man in the wheelchair was starting to get annoying. And costly. Now she wanted to get a potbellied pig. Of course when she had said that earlier Marcus had laughed and said that pets tended to look like their owners. She had not liked that at all. Marcus and LuLu were not very close. At all.  In fact Marcus kept telling him his wife had tricked him into marriage which was ridiculous. Marcus wanted him to take her on that Rebel show for a paternity test on the triplets which was also ridiculous. LuLu would never have done that to him.

" What's wrong, pooh bear ? ," he asked.

LuLu waved the paper in the air as she also shoved another chocolate covered cherry into her mouth. Then another one. " The state wrote me that they want to release Jimmy to my - our - custody. They want him to come here. Next week. "

Marcus narrowed his eyes. " Thought that son of yours was in juvenile until he was eighteen. For shooting Richard Norland's little brother in a robbery. "

LuLu sighed and ate more chocolate. " Me too but apparently the state has some new juvenile plan or program or something where they release early the ones who show what they call good behavior. Apparently that is Jimmy. "

Jonah furrowed his brow. " So ..... he's coming here ? With us ? Next door to the man he shot ? "

LuLu pursed her lips at her husband. " He did not shoot anyone. They framed him. It was that evil sister-in-law Faith Lane. She framed Jimmy and shot him. "

Marcus rolled his eyes.

Jonah looked worried. " I.... I.... Do you think they've informed Spencer Norland - Lane ? "

She didn't care about that. What she was thinking was her oldest son was now seventeen and a high school senior. On his eighteenth birthday he would legally get his half of Gertrude's insurance money.

LuLu smiled down at the letter.
