" Welcome to Duncan and Associates," Faith said with a fake ass polite smile on her face as she glanced up from her laptop where she was emailing Winston to see if Joe had turned up safe to look at a rather average and bland middle aged White man in a  baggy obviously off the rack suit and scuffed shoes. He looked down on his luck and fairly constipated. Kinda reminded her of Jacks from homicide. " How may I help you? "

The man smiled and showcased a mouth full of raggedy yellowed teeth. He asked sharply,"Jeremiah Duncan here ? "

Faith lifted an eyebrow at him as an odd chill crept over her body. She opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by the man in question who was stepping into the office behind the visitor.

Jeremiah said smoothly," I'm Jeremiah Duncan. How can I help you, sir? "

The man turned and smiled even wider as he handed him an envelope he held in his hand. A curious Jeremiah took it with a questioning expression upon his face.

" Nice to meet you, sir ," the man said cheerily as he turned to leave the office. " You've been served. Have a great day. "

Faith leaned back in her chair behind the reception desk and stared at the lawyer who was opening the envelope quickly. " What the absolute fuck is that about? "

Jeremiah's facial expression turned sour as though he was sucking on lemon limes. " It's about Claire Lowen being a really sore loser. She is suing me and the firm here. She has also sent a cease and desist order demanding the return of client files that she claims belong solely to Lowen Esquire Services. "

Faith laughed bitterly. That didn't sound good to her. Maybe she should have stayed with Dodie's miserable ass. " What exactly does that mean? "

Jeremiah folded up the papers in a neat and concise move. " It means that I will be meeting with my partners soon to discuss this. It also means Claire Lowen the Ice Queen of the DMV can go to hell. And stay there. The clients are not going anywhere. "
